Hmm...Jetfire uses his landing gear as a cane, looks really old, has a beard, somewhat lanky...

Yep, he's the geriatric robot. He'd better be voiced by Ron Perlman.

Sam Elliot or Ron Perlman, both would be wise choices...although Clint Eastwood would be awesome

Hmph... I guess. I thought it was The Fallen. Or maybe we'll end up with two old robots.
I would laugh my head off if I heard him yell that out.

How about Frank Welker? Many people have already said he sounds too old now to voice anyone else in the movies, so voicing an old TF sounds like a role made for him.

    BUMP.
Christopher Lee would be an incredible Jetfire. Him or Ian McKellan.

Wait, but that really wasn't a cane was it? I thought he was just balancing himself on something. Why would a robot need a cane, even if old (in Michael Bay's real real world Transformers), why couldn't Ratchet (or another med bot) just build him sturdy legs?

It is a cane. He is old and can't walk that well. He is a decepticon, so Ratchet prob wouldn't have helped him and may have been busy, this is a movie and it is fiction.

Get over yourself, I am not questioning the reality of fictional movies, just Bay's established Transformer universe where there is no morphing and resizing. I've been a supporter of this movie since Bay was announced for the first one, never deviating from the designs or choices made for the movie, I just wondered why a robot would need a cane, and was asking if it was truly a cane.

I don't think there would be enough screentime for Jetfire to interact with Ratchet.
