Is it weird that we only know one figure in the next deluxe wave?

With Wave 3 trickling out, my eyes always shift to the next assortment on the horizon.

Right now the next wave of deluxes consists of Perceptor and...?

(Officially, anyway. I know there are always leaks and rumors.)

Can someone who follows this stuff a little more closely let me know if this is unusual?

I know it's not quite what you're asking but the educated guess is we'll be seeing Krok, Quake and Topspin alongside Perceptor.

They have tended to drip feed the Titans Return deluxe waves. We didn't get a confirmation for Doublecross/Twinferno until quite late.

Hopefully it's not entirely repainted/retools, but it is a bit strange to think that wave could be out in 2 months..
I, for one, am really hoping we get a TR Kup!

I'm excited for wave four! If the rumors are to be believed it will consist of Perceptor, Quake, Krok, and I think Kup? Kup or Topspin. I'm very excited to complete my Double Targetmaster Decepticons.

Fingers Crossed for Kup in wave 4 that has his G1 alt mode. I like my classics Kup but if they can update him as well as they did Blurr then I will be retiring the classics one.

look at when Hasbro allowed the online retailers to post pre-orders for wave 3:
For whatever reason, they seem to be really clamping down on information about the future...

I don't think it's THAT weird. At SDCC, we only saw Voyager Megatron until they finally showed Optimus at NYCC this year.

If Hot Rod, Blurr and Perceptor are any indication, that may indeed be the case.

I think we might be seeing 3 members of a gestalt along side Perceptor ......... I do find it odd that 3 have been kinda more hush hush than normal Has/Tak secrecy . A huge part of me wants this , but I am all so looking at it from any angle I can so my feelings don`t cloud my judgment . Fingers crossed .

they have a system in place

step 1: toy showen at fair
step 2: toy goes up for preorder (which seems to be after they show off next wave at a fair latly)
step 3: toy gets released (which seems to be just before a toy fair by a month or so)

its just a patern i have noticed latly, held ture though combiner wars and it seems to be in place here espelly sense the next toy fair is at the start of the year, when wave 3 is supposed to be released, they show us the wave 4 toys, then it wont come out intill marchish, which will rinse repeat.

but this is just a thoery a idea i had a patern i noticed this is by no means a fact, this is by all means speculation (this line super important)

but yes hasbro is trying to keep things close to there chest it seems, im hopeing next toy fair we will see tryptacon in full so he is released around march, then i hope they tease scorponox (along with a beast combiner/ headmaster toyline )

Yeah, the weird thing about this wave is they would (theoretically) show it at toyfair mid-Feb. but then it should hit right afterwards: late-Feb to March.

I suspect the rest of wave 4 will be revealed before christmas. Via hasbro pulse or a random interview with gizmodo or "ain't it cool" news. Typically, when a wave of product hits retail, we get info on the next wave.

Thus far we know the following about wave 4
Titanmaster: repugnus and shuffler (2 slots open)
    Legend: Brawn (2 slots open)
    Deluxe: Perceptor (3 slots open)
    Voyager: Broadside (1 slot open)
    Leader: Sky Shadow.

I do expect we'll probably start seeing a bunch of redecoes showing up in this wave.

I don't think Trypticon will be released until around SDCC next year. Unless I am mistaken, that would follow the schedule for when Devastator and Fortress Maximus were released. SDCC exclusive and retail around the same time.

Cosmos and Seaspray. Krok, Quake, and Kup. Octane.

The other listings discovered with sinilar codes(ala the same wave) were Optimus and Ramhorn. Though thay could change.

I would agree with the before Chrimast thing but wave 3 is being released at this time, so the next wave is likely due in February/March.

EDIT: Toyfair this year us being held from February 18-22. So yeah I could see wave 4 being revealed soon. I'm sure the rest TR and Trypticon are going to be the main focus at the event.

I'd expect Trypticon's full reveal at Toy Fair. Along with tr wave 5 and the first batch of Last Knight Toys.

Oh yeah forgot about those. :lol
    Shows how excited I am.

Also RID is having a full-on five bot combiner so I'd expect that to be there too. Sounds like a decent Toyfair.

    Random unrelated thought:
If we ever get deluxe class Constructicons, they might give us the Autobot double targetmasters from those molds.
Wouldnt be completely the same, but it would be costeffective.
(And we'd have three more combining Autobots :)  )

The rumor mill does say we could get a Needlenose in the deluxe lineup at some point. But I already have the TFCC Spinister and Needlenose so I'm very invested in a Titans Return Quake.

Optimus Prime was revealed at Cybertron Con a week after SDCC.

Actually the system has been more like this in more than one instance:

Step 1: New toys revealed at various toy shows
    Months pass.
Step 2: Online retailers get shipped toys but are not allowed to even list them for preorder before a certain "street date".
Step 3: Walmart and/or Target break the street date.
Step 4: Online retailers are allowed to list the figures as "in stock".

That was like two years ago. These days we're sometimes lucky if we actually know about new toys before they're found at retail.

I've actually started a thread on this topic a few months ago and was basically called crazy. Some people insisted that there's no need to know about every single upcoming product in advance. I was told the only people who care that much about knowing everything beforehand are supposedly insatiable "NEED MOAAAAAR TOYS NAAAOOOOOW" hardcore collectors. In fact, some people insisted that it's a welcome change not to know everyting in advance, instead having the opportunity of walking into a store and being surprised by a totally unexpected new toy, just like back in the Eighties.
