I hate the Bayformers aesthetic too. It's ugly and doesn't look visually appealing compared to Alternators, Classics, and IDWverse. It's Giger-aesthetic without the cohesion and genitalia symbolism(except when it's not symbolism at all).

You're not the only one of anything, save for being the only you. There are plenty of other people who dislike the look, just like how there are plenty who love it (like myself).

    moving to toy discussion.

Have you seen the Human Alliance toys? They're about voyager-scale cars? Those are the best engineered ones in my opinion. But I agree, the movie aesthetic as a whole isn't for me either.

    Oh for Pete's sake.

These are the only mainline (I don't count Generations as a mainline) figures I collect. Never really did Cybertron, Animated, Prime, but I'd always collect the movie toys.

The only movie toys I have are two legion figures that were also in the box with that orange Rodimus figure. Movie toys are a waste of plastic.

While I am not crazy about the aesthetics of the movie models, I do really like some of the movie toys. The toys lose some of the look of the movie because they just cannot look the same.

I have a small collection of Movie figures. Basically A couple of new Voyagers, and most of the HA figures. They are some of the best figures I own. So if it is just the aesthetic, I recommend checking out some of the toys. Jetwing Prime is brilliant. Then the normal guys like HA Jazz. The one that everyone talks about but is HIGHLY OVERRATED is Blackout. Very over rated.

I'm not huge on the aesthetic, but I do think the vast majority of the figures took a dip in quality on the last 2 movies

Can't stand them. I've bought one toy since the 07 movie, and that was a dinobot from AOE.

I like the Human Alliance class, but I too hate the movie figs as a whole. DOTM had the best figs of the movie lines if I had to choose.

I don't like the aesthetic, but I'm sure they're not all "crap". Heck, Hasui even designed some of them, right?

Trust me you're very far from being the only one having that opinion in the slightest.

The Bay Transformers have always looked junky to me. I prefer the classic look and higher quality of the MP's. They are more $, but I'd rather have a few very nice pieces over a ton of so-so pieces any day.

Generally speaking I find that most of the mainline figures have been dropping in quality over the past few years. There are some exceptions but overall most of the movie figures have been pretty lackluster. Honestly, MP is the only thing that keeps me collecting Transformers.

Aside from the occasional G1s and most Masterpieces, the movie figures are the only ones I collect.

They made me re-discover Transformers after 23 years of hibernation. Age of Extinction is easily the weakest link, imo. Clearly cutting costs despite the potential of the alt mode licenses secured.
