Is it me, or does the movie seem like it's missing 30 minutes?

The movie was oddly edited and the transitions between scenes were weird. It seem like a lot of scenes were cut out.

It's obvious alot is cut out, hence the shit editing. Hopefully we'll be getting those cut out minutes in an extended cut.

Yeah, that scene was so WTF. 3 seconds after meeting Megs is suddenly rambling a bunch of names. And god knows how he knew they were in prison and not other Decepticons. Would of been better if the humans said the names of their prisoners and then Megatron chose which ones to take in his crew.

The editing might just be terrible because they didn't have a coherent sequence of scenes to use.

Well the fight between Bee and Prime felt rushed, his sudden transition from Optimus to Nemesis felt rushed, Unicron was mentioned right out of nowhere with no build up at all, everyone on Earth kept talking about the end of the world with Cybertron approaching but that was just blurted out with no build up too, yeah this was a long movie but it felt rushed. And when was Megatron suddenly aligned to Quintessa?

I would be all up for an extended 3 hour cut if they can fix the pacing because it was massacred, if they get rid of one thing. That geeky scientist who showed up out of nowhere during the last leg of the film. He was chewing up sooo much scenary it was cringe worthy.

    It sure is
I feel like it is the shortest movie out of 5. Even the first movie feel dragged out, but with TLK I think even if they add 10 minutes more for each act I still feel shorter than DOTM/AOE

That's what happens when you shoot for the edit, and not the story.

The pacing is strange af, but honestly the movie could benefit from about an hour less of running time.

All of these extended additions of movies is getting a tad bit tiresome for me. It's fine when one or two have an extended cut of certain scenes that don't have an impact on the overall plot. However, when a quarter of the recent films that have come out need extended cuts just to try and make the plot less of a poorly edited cluster, then there's a problem.

Why studios seem to now constantly mutilate films beyond recognition of their original cut, is beyond me. I understand time constraints and not wanting the film to be unnecessarily long, but said actions in turn make said film feel nonsensical and sloppy as a result.

Probably because there really is about that much of runtime missing. It sure as hell feels like it. If they do release an extended version itd be interesting to see if it would tie everything up better.

I think rather then that the 'mutilation' needs to happen at the writing stage. Cut it before it's filmed and edit the story around those cuts so it remains consistent and then start filming.
