you gotta take the good with the bad, theres bitching and complaining wherever you go. I find this place to be very laid back and quite informative. a billion times better than that other TF site i used to frequent. The things that do annoy me i try to ignore.....that said this whole "FAIL" trend is very annoying and i do hope it goes away soon

 

I say this thread deserves a poll, or two.

Congrats on making a thread that will just be closed or deleted. Forums will always have some bitching, you've gotta learn to deal with it. Also, discussing it honestly just causes more bitching and drama.

Seriously though, discussion and criticism are all par for the course. This board and this fandom are big enough that nothing will please everyone, and someone somewhere will have something negative to say about anything. There's nothing wrong with that. I just have a problem with it when it gets into the territory of "This toy and Hasbro are literaly worse than the holocaust, and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to be sent to a home for the ******eds because my opinion is a scientific FACT because HE TELL ME!!"

So, uh... yeaahhhhh...

 

It can get a little silly sometimes, but good grief, go check out some of the other TF forums, or even other franchise's fan websites (I'm thinking of Star Wars). If you think TF fans here complain at Hasbro, go to Rebelscum.com and watch the whiners complain that "Oh no! Anakin has been packed with the wrong lightsaber handle!! Right, that's it - find the Hasbro Executives in charge and kill their families!!!!".

I think it was Steve's ye olde F.A.Q that gave a good answer to this. Something along the lines of - people complain about something because they genuinely care. And caring is good. But it can get taken too far...

And one word replies of "This" or "Fail" also bug me... *waits for some one to reply to this post with similar such words*....

I am with you man. I started a thread earlier about how people that get the toys first complain and complain about a dot of paint in the wrong place...or complain about a toy line or something...

The topic isn't about there being any complainers at all, the topic is about how the complainers have overpowered the topic of conversations and I believe that is true.

There is so much negativity in the community these days it's sad, just sad. However there are still many sources that discuss the TF world without issues.

I do have to say that this site has less complaining than other TF sites.

 

The fandom of all things will complain. If you want to hear some true bitching and complaining, go to a video game site like Gamespot and read posts on practically anything. This site is truly mild. Of course, you could always ignore the negative posts if they bother you.

So what would happen if every time a new item was shown there were 200 responses saying nothing but "That's great", "I love you Hasbro" or "Must Own"?

 

1. You could never find anything.

2. All QC problems had been resolved

3. Most threads wouldn't be fun to read.

0r 4. The majority of TF Fans had died of the plague.

Negative comments when done constructively are positive. e.g. I never bought the original MP Starscream after all the feedback from fans about multiple QC issues.

 

My 2 cents:

Cent 1: I like to hear different views from different people, whether they like something or not. What isn't as fun is when the opinion is expressed without reason or explanation. That's where comments like "FAIL", "THIS", or "EVRTHING IN LINE (x) SUKS AZZ" cause so much frustration.

Cent the Second: Negative feelings are more likely to be expressed than positive ones. A lot of us who like most of what Hasbro and Bay are doing these days are pretty quiet. Partially because we don't want to get into it with the "h8rZ", partly because content people tend to be quieter than discontent people.

 

with humans you get the bad and the good....
positives with this board...you get great news on new releases....
without this site...never would have known about the comic target 2 packs...never would have know about the kmart 12 pack minicon set...the movie TRU exclusives wingsaber and inferno...or the repaint of mudflap and jetstorm....

There are way too many positives here that out weigh the negatives...besides...the way it goes with TV...if it offends you or you don't like it....DON'T READ OR WATCH IT...aka ...don't visit a site you do not like...
