I have seen a lot for the "ROF" toys and I like a lot of them great Ideas behind them, but there are a few things that bug me. 1: Why could'nt they think of a way to make all the Constructicons combine on the voyager class that way we dont have to buy the supreme class one. Dont get me wrong there may be a reason besides money but they could of spent some time just to see if it worked. 2:some of the molds could of used some more work on them ex:Breakaway his head looks like that it could move out of the cockpit but no it turns but hes got a hunchback look to him also Wheelie whats with his head? I don't know mabey its just me but what do the other fans and collectors think chime in and as Vangelus says " Lets use the internet as our battle ground!" (If you dont know who Vangelus is I say shame on you go find him and enjoy his videos!)
"Lazy" would be re-tooling Leader Prime with two of the sword-arms from the Movie 1 figures. So no, I don't think Hasbro is lazy. Toys could always be made better, not everyone is always going to be pleased, and hindsight is a bitch. That's just how it is.
nah, devastator is the way he is most likely because of the way things are going with the economy, AND with the fact that they only had a short period of time to prepare such a massive toy lol besides it doesn't look THAT bad, it could use some more paint apps though. and i'll probably end up getting one to display. also maybe they deemed it too difficult to combine them, in the way they transform, BUT takara didn't, with their legends? *or maybe costly too* lol but then again, making voyagers/deluxes combine/transform the way they do, is a HUGE difference, then making tiny small, legends class figures combine/transform. but i don't know, if i am just making excuses or not. but either way. i don't think they are getting lazy, in fact, i think they are getting WAY better at toy making. leader prime, while the same truck, as the original, is FAR more accurate this time around. some people might not be happy with the ROTF toys, but like hasbro said at the panels, they can't please every body.
I dunno if I'd use the term 'lazy' but they do seem to miss a trick here and there which should be obvious right away. For instance ROTF Sideswipe's feet really could've done with a simple flip-out piece to make him more stable when standing. Yeah you can eventually balance him on his heels with the wheel feet, but it's not ideal. Then there's adding an extra peg or clip here and there for making things stay in place a little more securely.
really, this is more us complaining cause they spoiled us in the past, and in our minds raised the bar, thats all, there are a few things that i wish they had done a little different, but im just thankful they gave us what they gave us, cause what they gave us is pretty sweet
A lot has to do with time and money, and what you can do in that time. After everything Hasbro's done for the second movie line alone, I don't think anyone with half a brain could call them lazy.
Here we go again. Devastator- One of the reasons he got a gift set and separate constructicon releases is because hasbro made a Voyager Longhaul, which is to big to form a leg similar in size to the Rampage leg. Not to mention, I'm sure that Hightower will get a voyager release as well. There are already 2 problems. Hasbro probably also wanted a simple Devastator for kids to play with. The devastator that would be formed out of 6 separate constructicons would probably be highly complex, and probably wouldn't pass the drop test. Hasbro is not lazy. They try their best to make great toys, and rotf Prime is evidence of that. And quite frankly, I'm sick of the moaning of some fans. Are there some things I wish they would do better? Yes. Do I think they should fix them soon? Certainly. But I still fully respect them.
^haha lol. The reason they made a giftset is because they made Longhaul a voyager. Yeah i'm sure they were sitting around and then it hit them, "SHIT! We made Longhaul way to big! Lets just throw out the rest of the plans for Devs to combine."
I'm not saying that they got up to him and noticed he was way to big, I'm just saying that they probably wanted him to be a voyager, and there they hit a problem. I still fully believe that they could have made a devastator with fully transformable limbs, and was a little pissed off when they didn't, but I got over it. If you don't like it, don;t buy it.
Hrm... a complaint about Devs not combining from a new user.. who'da thunk it? Flog that horse corpse a little harder my friend.
Yes, I wish the Devastator toys combined blah, blah, blah but the only other thing that bugs me is Prime's swords. I immediately took them off but, geez, couldn't they figure out a way to do that without having them be in the way so much? Other than that, I dig the line and I don't see that much different in the way Hasbro's been doing things for years. Very solid.
Everyone has already said it, but what a cop out that the Constructicons dont combine. Thats my only problem with the line so far.
If I have an issue with Hasbro it's the paint apps or more accurately the lack of them on certain toys. The ROTF line should be renamed "Greyformers" because the lack of paint makes many toys look like knockoffs and in the case of an expensive, top of the line item like Leader Class Optimus Prime it's totally unacceptable. Would it really cost Hasbro that much more to paint the relevant truck/robot parts chrome or silver?
I fully respect and have faith in hasbro and all the work they have done I love going out to find the newest additions to my collection and love each one it gives me a plesant tingling feeling when I get and play with new transformers . we get great toys and endless repaints and hasbro gets all my respect and money. I just feel that they dont fully work out the ideas they have for the line, my only other complaint is while the other lines were droped for the movie and I know well get the rest of animated figures soon, maybe they could of keep the universe 2.0 line I really like the way they were going with that line but we cant always get what we want. I have nothing but the greatest respect for them and would'nt give up collecting for anything.
Don't know about being lazy. Just them making some questionable choices from time to time. They spent a ton of work on Leader Prime, but put some funky red color bits and awkward swords on him. Made Sideswipe heck of cool, but left him with his funky feet. Sideways is cool too, but with pink windows? Then a nice minor update on Preview BB, with a gun arm not to many's liking. While I am not a fan of Devastator, I do think that if the deluxes would combine, it will lure a lot more people to 'gonna catch them all' just to have Devastator complete. But instead, people now need to double dip in the deluxes, as well as the combining set, nor just not to bother with it at all. Given in mind, they have schedule and budget to follow, and market audiences to gear towards. Just so the choices they make tend to rub us collectors the wrong way more often than not.
I are a G1 collector and Hasbro IS trying to make money. Plain and simple. But to the point, they probably had a swift deadline and had to come up with something quickly, hence the crap they produced. I love Hasbro, but they need to go back to the 80's. Ya' know, where things were bricks, sold by the millions in every damn store (even Grocery stores) and are still being reissued today
I don't think they're getting lazy. I think they were aware that it would be difficult to pull off given the time, money and resources they had. I'm glad they knew their limits and decided to put their effort into very solid separate toys instead of making a sub-par combiner.
No I dont think they are lazy at all. I mean theyve just launched a new line for our enjoyment. There is going be a steady line of new figures, for us, for a long time. Lazy means doing nothing , or at least very little, and CLEARLY Hasbro is not lazy. If you dont care some of these figures, then just wait cuz ALOT more are coming. You might like some them better. And the Devastator thing has been covered countless times. We get it.
