yes its worth it if you want a g1 version. Its made by takara so what could go wrong? at least we cant say its cheap quality like the people complaining about the cheap g1 ko transformers from big lots. I bought one for myself. its super cooool. I have no regrets at all. the encore line was my favorite line ever. only wish they did more.

The tradeoff between this and vintage is you get new plastic, tight joints and crisp stickers, as well as a working launcher on Onslaught and combining guns ala Ruination. The downside is the mold degradation, which you don't notice at distance, but might bug you if you're picky.

If you have no G1 Combaticons, I'd recommend the Encore over loose complete vintage.

I Think its worth it, went over to my drinkin buddys house he just got it in, next thing you know after a couple of drinks and transforming from vechical to robot to bruticus within the next hour i had ordered it from robotkingdom they have it for $72. + Shipping

    EDIT:
i have the vintage metal versions but those are one of my prized possession and it has nice crispp stickers still and in amazing condition(Plus id rather use the encore version for the CrazyDevy parts)

I thought about getting it too because my brother always wanted it, but some forum goers in here told me that it is more worth it getting a used vintage one for $50. Now I hear different. I guess if I see it in my local store the next time, I'm getting it.

This cracks me up. Lots went wrong. The quality of molded detail IS big lots KO level.

The mold has been used too damn much, and it's never been fixed up. Almost every bit of molded detail is rounded now, or completely deformed (Onslaught's hands). Some detail is flat out gone, like some panel lines on Blast-Off.

I say its not worth it. But It just depends what you're looking to do with it. I'd recommend it if you 're thinking of keeping him MISB.

    Ebay:
The reports of mold degrading are greatly exaggerated.

I've seen the pictures, I own the toys (both vintage and new) and I still say that.

bad quality man.... I still hope that Zhong Jin will reissue it with better quality: it's paradoxical, I know but it's so...

But is the encore version still available? I ordered mine last year from Toyarena and they were sold out several months later.
