So the question remains, are the differently-colored Breakaway and Sideways:

A) Intentional variants within the US line (a new concept for TFs, but not unusual in other toy lines), OR
B) A running change where one will be entirely replaced by the other as newer stock arrives at retailers

 

Yeah, i definitely wouldn't open that sucker until you find out if it's wide-spread or not...

 

I'm don't much care about the color variation aspect (I find the Breakway mold itself to be comedic at best) I'm more interested in the WHERE it was found. I never in a million years would have expected something like that to show up at Fry's. We only have one Fry's here in Washington (that I know of) and I've been from one end to the other in there and never seen anything toy related, not even stuff pertaining to video games. I'm almost curious enough to go check it out but I think I'll wait until I'm already going that direction. It's too long a drive for me just to satisfy idle curiosity.

iirc that Frys in Renton was one of the first places Classics 1.0 and Movie stuff showed up ~ i think they typically get like 1 pallette of product and sell it till it's gone...

 

i dont know i have pallet dived and cracked open 6 deluxes ROTF cases and Breakaway was only 1 per a case with the green writing and darker tan...i havent seen the lighter tan...but if its rare i have 2 of them yeah for me

 

i live up the street and i can assure you frys has always carried toys, transformers, legos, RCs and TMNT and MOTU in the front as you walk in on the right

Good, looks much better this way, though I would prefer if pastel blue and neon green were replaced by grey/black and silver.

 

Just found five of the darker brown Breakaways at my local Toledo Ohio Walmart today, only saw two of the lighter ones. The also had one of the darker Sideways (which i picked up).

Sorry for pulling up a two month old thread, just thought it may be of some minor importance after reading the thread and seeing that some thought these darker Breakaways might of been rare.
