With the confirmed title for 2025, what does everyone think of the generations lineup name “Age of the Primes”? Personally, I feel mixed about it. I can see it similar with “War for Cybertron” & “Power of the Primes”. But what I like about the title “Legacy” is because it’s one simple word to make it easier for the yearly marketing.

1st year, Legacy
2nd year, Legacy: Evolution
3rd year, Legacy: United

If they continue with this new name for the next 3 years, what trilogy name would we call it? “Age of the Primes” Trilogy or the “Primes” Trilogy?

I can see them doing changes with the word “age” like “Horizon of the Primes”, “End of the Primes”, etc.

 

I genuinely could not care less about what they call it as long as the figures are good.

 

I pretty much just stick to calling it all the Generations line.

 

Yeah....I'm not thrilled by the concept because I never got into the whole 13 Primes lore. Considering that leaked list I don't see myself getting very much (Venom is like the ONLY sure thing so far)

I tend to feel like Combiners should be released as a Titan all at once....not a lot of people in for just one or two, most want the whole set so I feel like we could get more variety in the main line by just having 2 Titan releases...a base and a combiner, each year. If this first act is indeed only 3 waves, then 4/10 of the new Deluxe figures are Aerialbots.

I feel like the whole 13 Primes is one of those niche concepts that belong more in a capsule or two like the Mayhem Attack Squad, The Wreckers and the Pirates...I'd MUCH rather see the Primes as an Amazon group like the pre-war sets and have the main line feature guys like the HM jr Autobots, Omnibots, Powermasters, Skyscorchers, Fuzors, Cyberjets etc...

 

You know year two and three are going to be "Fall of the Primes" and "War of the Primes."

 

If the name of third toyline won't be "Past Their Primes" I'm gonna be positively peeved!

 

They’ve so far only stated that 2025 and 2026 will be connected, nothing about 2027. I think this next line is a duology, and I think that even more when I look at the listings and see that next year covers around half of the Primes, which means year 2 could feasibly get them all done, and that would leave nothing for 2027. (Unless they do the post-13 lineage characters like Sunbow Sentinel or IDW Zeta, but this line seems to be 13-themed, not Primes-in-general-themed.)

 

Have there been any generations line that only did two years in the past?

 

Since they started doing it in CW, no.

 

It doesn't matter if it's good or not, it's the name. They're not changing it now.

in all seriousness, my prediction is that the "age" part will get switched out for the second/third parts. something like "War Of The Primes" or "Fall Of The Primes"

I agree with the others. It’s the toys that matter rather than what they call the sub line. I don’t separate my figures by sub line - they all interact.

 

I think the name is fine, honestly. I'm more curious about the figures. I'm hoping they're generally terrible so I don't feel compelled to partake, lol...

I don't give a fig what goofy, gimmicky marketing name they slap on the box, it's all just Generations or CHUG to me.

They mentioned at sdcc that it won't be a trilogy, just that 2025 and 2026 are "connected" i.e. the primes

I've got the feeling it'll be a two-year thing, with something new kicking off in 2027 when Mark's "dreams end" and John Warden is back in charge.

Legacy of The Primes or Legacy of Unicron would be my guesses for the name of Year 2.
