-no ankle tilt on Saber (the smaller bot)
    -loose ankles on Saber
-reviewer broke the sword's handle because the fist was too tight
-combination of Saber into Star Saber, reviewer is winging it because he didn't have instructions (the leg portions)
    -height 31.5cm, weight 1.16kg
-reviewer mentions he lost rear skirt because his daughter had played with it (lol)
-good arm joints ('very comfortable' and 'no problems'), move the shoulder transformation flap for more outward range
    -tight waist movement
-I think he said the upper torso portion is diecast (the grey and white parts)
-His daughter lost the rear skirt because they are too loose, he demonstrates the front skirt
-because of the design, there is a ridiculous front kick but there is no kick backwards
-limited ankle tilt on Star Saber
-the gun which looked ridiculously huge on Saber is now too small on Star Saber
-partsforming needed to form the sword, and there is a longer hilt for double-handed grip
-partsforming landing wheels for Saber's jet mode
-specific finger placements needed for Star Saber's transformation
-for the combination you have to angle Saber to fit in the hook, tabs and pegs. Remove the landing wheels for an easier time.
-transformation reminds him of MP-24. well, the original design of Star Saber doesn't give too much leeway anyway
-the robot head seems loose in alt mode
-Summary: great bot mode. but the reviewer wondered if they were rushed for time. it could use a little more tweaking, and might invite disappointment/criticism if it was sold as it is.

This is for the translation. Looks like with a bit more attention to details it could have been a great figure. Did they mention in the review the possibility of the joints loosening?

I believe he didn't say anything about it.

I know some are worried about the lack of ratchet joints but this is actually quite common in heavy figures other than Transformers. The same reviewer also did a review on Motor Nuclear's MNQ-02 Cao Ren (on Feb 14th) and I can see the similarities in joint strength.

Thanks again. I wasn't aware that friction joints were common in heavy figures , I'm used to see them in diecast action figures much smaller than this and even in those cases they might fail, hence my concerns.

I've said this a few times in the thread already, but these types of joints will definitely fail. Diecast friction joints are even worse than plastic ones because they wear out much quicker (while being much tighter with initial handling). This type of technology is used in alot of bandai products such as metal builds, metal robot and they all suffer from loose joints over time. This guy has it worse because he's huge. If bandai hasn't been able to figure out the loose joint issue on their stuff...lets just say that this company is unlikely to have figured it out either.

Friction joints are common in 1:6 scale figures as well, but those are figures that are meant to be posed once or twice times a year at most. On the other hand, ratchets are designed to last even if they are subject to frequent use.

yeah, i'm out. I was really enthusiastic before, but with the initial few video reviews/previews from last month, it's just not as finished a product as mp-24. Too many little short cuts add up to detract from the figure overall. It's like they really put in a ton of effort into the aesthetic style, but to cut costs/time they just took way too many design shortcuts. I normally don't care about partsforming...but the landing gear on saber FFS can't be integrated??? There's no cover panel to conceal the hands in the v-star? All the extra parts just go in a drawer somewhere?

    Gotta come correct.

I guess they are aiming for an action figure that transforms, rather than a Transformers action figure.

I hope this'll get the necessary tweaks before mass release.

It’s hardly been long enough to consider it dead. Just delayed a bit because of a small unforeseen issue you may of heard about. Think it was something about a corona beer.

It doesn's sound like it's a clear improvement over MP Star Saber.

Just got the email from ShowZ to pay the balance! Have we seen any English reviews yet?
