The is a huge difference between gunning dome a squad of soldiers coming at you and ripping the face off of a defeated foe, or executing another defeated foe with three shots then killing your "father".
The way the fight was designed seems to be that it was really close, and then the ending would be decided based on who won.
While as a TF fan I was rooting for Prime, that was more brutal than even Bayformers would get. I mean, what is this Civil War Part 2?

Wow, I really got into that. I love Iron Man, but I became freakin' emotionally invested in Optimus winning that thing.
Stark's use of his technology is akin to Prime calling in, say, the Dinobots. Needless to say, Prime wins this one all week and twice on Tuesdays. I only wish it was G1 Prime to have done the deed. Kudos to that voice actor, who I think really nailed Prime! I thought it was Cullen the whole time.
Figured Prime would win. Stark's a very intelligent man no doubt about it but Optimus has 4 million wars of battle experience which that alone gives him an edge.
The problem with these fights is that regardless of how objective you try to be, often its a subconscious opinion that determines the outcome. In the end though, does it really matter? Who you prefer does not define who should've won, as the whole fight is pointless anyway. Even if Optimus should HAVE WON DAMMIT YOU BASTARDS I'LL KILL ALL THE ANIMATO-coughcough. Difference, yes. Huge? Hardly. The point is, both are " murder" Prime. People just give G1 Prime a pass because of.nostalgia. If cartoon friendly, designed for younger audiences G1 Prime did that in a more mature setting like the movies, then it would be far worse. Regardless, I rest my case for multiple reasons. Not the forum to discuss this, both Primes are "murdery" and well, some people refuse to take off the nostalgia goggles.
No they are not it's a HUGE difference (not my opinion it's a fact), you don't kill unarmed combatants, period. Murder is something quantifiably different then killing in combat or defense. There is no other way around it, one is wrong and the other is justified.
Darn good thing Prime never killed an unarmed combatant. Besides- yes you do kill unarmed combatants. Why? Because they are combatants.
