Don't recall this being mentioned before, but it appears that Ironhide has a scar over his right eye in DOTM. The plating around his eye looks a little dented, and his eye appears partly closed. The clearest look at it is during the "Class dismissed" line following the Mexican Standoff. The scar wasn't there in either of the first two movies, so I'd assume it happened between ROTF and DOTM.
Yeah, you can see it well during the "just wanted to show him my cannons" line in TF1, as well as "it's Starscream!" line too.
Just checked out my ROTF dvd ("You dare point a gun at me?" close-up), and yeah, there does appear to be some damage around his eye. I guess I just thought it was a recent addition because it looked a lot more significant in DOTM.
Yeah, I'm with the others here, I always noticed it. It was mentioned that practically his entire body is made up a spare parts now because his original body over time just got so battle torn. I remember him even walking with a limp when he got out of the pool.
It's in the comics, novels, video games and the back of the toys. Unfortunately, the movies like to gloss over little details like this. Kind of like how we know Ironhide had more guns than a third world country, even though it wasn't blatantly stated.
Ditto here I thought it was just damage from ROTF battle in Egypt after all you see him have a stomach wound and his cannon just falls off his arm
Yeah, he has definitely had a scar over his eye in the past two movies, but in DOTM it seems to have gotten worse or something. It kinda looked like his eye was half closed or something, whereas in the previous movies it was just scarred.
The games aren't cannon for one, and I've read all the comics, its pretty blatant on his design and toys everything cept his eye scar is symetrical, so...that would mean no random, spare parts. If you can actually reference it specifically, I'll be glad to check the issue and see where I'm wrong. It goes against how they repair themselves in the first place. Megatron to date has been the only bot other than Longhaul\Igor, and power up Prime, but in Primes case it was turned into a temporary flight tech.
Ironhide (Movie) - Transformers Wiki It says right there in the beginning, he has more replacement parts than an entire army. And I have found from hard core Transformers fans that this particular site is pretty accurate.
Two things you said spare parts, not replacements those are vastly differant you made him sound like a junkion, secondly Wiki is written by fans, and isn't official. Your entire hypothesis is a summary of the paragraphs from the wiki, try again.
It seems that way bro, but actually DOTM gave the best TF character close-ups hollywood can buy. This time it was very obvious that Ironhide had a damaged eye.
