I don't remember seeing any of the other Autobots telling Prime that Ironhide died. But the thing is how did Prime found out that Ironhide died without anyone telling him? Unless he suspected something

Nobody knows. Nothing of Ironhide was mentioned at all after he died.

we dunt need to be spoonfed this kinda thing. We shouldn't limit Autobot-to-autobot communications to be as rudimentary as ours (like using mouth to convey info/message within earshot, and make a scene out of that somemore).

It wouldn't be illogical to assume the autobots have direct links to each other and their whereabouts/status. If one is down , "disconnected"... the rest might know right away).

 

Yes, but we still don't know if that's even how he found out. It's nothing but speculation.

He found out from their comlinks....its in the Novel....he didn't get nothing from Ironhide...and he did from Mudflap but not Skids and knew they were both gonna die...that they were no match for Sentinel.....Optimus was sad and it shows on his face....the novel goes into detail....I suggest if you don't have it pick it up w Exiles....by the paper back if you can't afford the hardcopy....

I just assumed in the Bayverse that when a cybertronian dies everybody shrugs their shoulders and goes for some moar mudering sprees- unless its an old coot who makes macguffin plot devices, in which case its sadfaces all round.

 

It would be a waste of time if everyone was saddened by the loss of a comrade, they can do that off-screen.

But the lack of recognition from the Autobots over their second in command's shameful death was kinda ridiculous. As I already said Wheeljack was mourned in a sense and he was only in DOTM for about 10 minutes, whereas Ironhide has had the most amount of screen time for an Autobot who isn't Prime or Bumblebee and what did he get? Diddley squat thats what!

 

Prime was counting heads as everyone was coming back in, and he was like, "wait a second.."

I'd like to think Optimus knew, I mean you can tell both how sad and angry he was at the base.
Notice how Optimus transforms, very slowly, cautiously, not like the Optimus we know.

 

It was a horrible death! Everyone deserves a moment when they die... Except Sentinel!

 

There's no indication in the film that Prime even knew he was dead... let alone how.

I'm pretty sure he found out real quick, but I didn't like it either that something this big was to be speculated as an off screen event. It's shitty directing. But damn, we sure had to have an extended Sam looking for a job.

Oh well, maybe the movie makers are actually being clever, and making sure that nothing verbal was mentioned about Ironhide actually being dead, so they can bring him back in the fifth movie to save the day. It's fiction, and we are dealing with characters that simply do not just die, so anything is possible.

 

Think about it, How much screentime did the bots get for talking where they COULD have mentioned his passing?
