I love the history of Iron Man. I love the Golden Avenger from the 60s. Stark is the kind of guy who innovates, so he wouldn't just paint his Mark I from the desert. As a thought excercise, I had to give the retro Gold suit a reason to exist in the MCU. What if Tony Stark had collaborated with Obadiah Stane to create the Mark II suit? Sounds insane, but what would become the iron monger suit would instead be designed as a force for good... at least, for now. It would've been faster, more fuel efficient, and a second model would be made of Gold titanium, but the all American point of view that bigger is better tainted the design. Unfortunately, sharing the credit with Stane meant that some back-door arms dealing would take place, causing the MCU version of Armor Wars and Tony Stark would wisen up by streamlining his arsenal and adding some hot rod red. Recipe for this figure was the Iron Monger from the first movie, bulldog adhesion promoter, Tamiya Gold, and Testors Clear Coat.
