If I'm not mistaken, the thread created for the Iron Man 1 line also served as the discussion for the Iron Man 2 line's discussion. Personally I feel the new movie's line deserve's it's own thread, but if not, please merge this with the existing thread. Anyways, while we've only got our first look at the line, we do now have the listings for all the different parts of this line: Hasbro Iron Man 3 Figure Listings Including 3.75" & 6" Legend Figures - Marvel - MarvelousNews.com It's nice to know that regular 3-3/4" figures are being made alongside the Assemblers. I'm really liking the look of the mkLXXIII armor, so unless the figure looks horrible, I'll probably get the 3-3/4" version. I might even get the Marvel Select one, depending on how it turns out. It should be interesting to see who the six Legends figures turn out to be. Given that the Iron Monger BAF is comic-based, I imagine that the figures that come with his parts will also be comic-based. Since Spoiler Pepper is going to be getting her own armor in the movie , a comic book based Spoiler Rescue figure would make sense, and Iron Patriot for that matter. The Micro Muggs look like they'll be tempting. Then again, all of those cheap blind-bagged collectibles are kind of tempting...
IRON MAN LEGENDS 6-INCH ACTION FIGURES The 6" Iron Legends are 6 figures across 2 waves featuring Iron Man 3 packaging and an all-new, never-been-done-before Build-a-Figure. hmmmmm
Re-arranged the list a bit. I think it's a little funny that they're doing a ten inch, a twelve inch, and a fifteen inch figure. You would figure that one large and gimmicky scale would be enough. Also, I wonder if the light-up arc reactors weren't selling well anymore, as that assortment is missing from the list. I had skipped over reading the descriptions for the non-figures, so decided to give them a read. It sounds as though the IM helmet has actually gotten pretty cool. Makes me wonder if an adult's head could fit, let alone my melon...lol
I'm all over that BAF Iron Monger.I wonder how big it will actually be.If they make it to scale like he was in the comics, that thing should be huge because Iron Monger was quite a bit bigger than Iron Man. I love the description of the 12 inch figure and it's mindblowing 5 points of articulation.
He should be pretty big. We got a teaser pic of him during SDCC pictured with what I'm thinking is the Marvel Legends Extremis Iron Man figure. Not sure if he's in-scale, but he looks big enough for me. Though it'll really depend on who the six figures that you'll need to get to make him. If those interest me enough, I might actually get them. I see it as Hasbro's "hey, we can do shit articulation too Mattel, we just choose to use it on the gimmick figures meant just for kids, rather than the figures collectors would actually want to buy".
I'm quite looking forward to the 6" figures. I can never have enough Iron Man figures. I'm really, really hoping the 3 3/4" line will go back to the awesome articulation of the IM2 line and not stick with the scaled-back articulation of the Avengers line.
Even though it's not the whole picture,he does look huge, and from what I remember from the comics,he looks to be the perfect size.He shall be mine.
Not much, but here's some news: Iron Man 3 Merchandise Revealed - ComingSoon.net Looks like the Assemblers have the limited articulation I, and some others, were fearing. Oh well, at least they're continuing the normal 3-3/4" scaled figures. Also, some interesting shirts. Might actually get one.
Hasbro scales back articulation from the Marvel Universe line when they do the Avengers because they know those figures will sell more with the masses than how many collectors who are turned off by less articulation.
Some interesting looking armors. These Assembler figures will be an easy pass for me, but I'm really curious to see how the regular 3-3/4" figures turn out. Most especially the IM3 "poster armor", aka the Mark 42...or whatever number it is.
Is that going to be the 3 & 3/4'' mainline? It says "Iron Man Assemblers" which according to the Figure listings above is a separate line from the main 3 3/4 figures, and features "figures with multiple interchangeable pieces that deliver maximum customization. Heads, arms, legs and weapons are interchangeable across figures to create hundreds of unique armors!" If that's the mainline then it would be a huge step back from IM2.
Ah, this. If anything this is a preview of the armors we might see in the actual 3 inch line. I kinda expect a drop-off from the the high level of paint detail and articulation in the IM2 line, but not nearly that bad. Curious as well to see what it's got in store. Also looking forward to the 6'' stuff.
These are most DEFINITELY the "Assemblers" figures. We're still getting normal 3-3/4" figures, we just haven't seen any yet. Though with these leaks, I can't imagine it'll be too much longer till we see some of them. If not any leaks beforehand, we should get a good look at them during Toy Fair.
I disagree. Simplified as they are, they aren't THAT simplified. These actually have an attempt at articulation, and a half-decent amount of paint-apps. That said, these will still be easy passes. Especially in-comparison to the normal figures.
Looking forward to the "main" 3.75" line, as well as the Legends line. I hope this means I'll finally get a Mk.VII figure to go with my 6" Avengers.
