edit: oh wait, you meant music channels, like stations. I thought I missed TFW having a music channel.

Album came out today. It's pretty awesome.

I love it. Definitely the best thing they have done since Brave New World. It's not quite as good as that album, but still very solid.

When the Wild Wind Blows is an insta-classic.

    "Iron Maiden? EXCELLENT!"

if you caught that, you are either old enough to have listened to Piece of Mind, or you remember Keanu Reeves' first use of the word, "whoa."

i had not heard of this release- now i ogtta give it a listen. thanks for the heads up on this.

I completely agree. I loved Brave New World, and while this isn't better, it's still a great album.

I don't keep up with any "new music" (radios by me only play oldies or pop, and music stations don't actually play music) so I didn't even know it came out. I gotta check it out though, can't think of the last album I actually bought, let alone the last Maiden CD I got.

And yes, I still buy CDs.

Iron Maiden is my favourite band.

I looooove this album. Aside from 'Satellite 15... The Final Frontier' and 'El Dorado', the rest of the songs are brilliant. I'm not a huge fan of their previous 3 albums but this one is easily one of my favourites alongside 'Powerslave' and 'Seventh Son of a Seventh Son'.

only had one or two good listens through, but i already love when the wild wind blows, that track is just incredible, reminds me a lot of dance of death , which is never a bad thing imo ;)

Listened to it a half dozen times and it's growing on me. I think the downfall is that the songs are way too long (look at the opening intro - four minutes that should build into something but never does). They've had their epics in the past but never for an entire album. The musicianship just isn't what it needs to be on this album for a seven minute song each time. Quite frankly, I get bored.

Nonetheless, it's not horrible and it's the best they've done since Fear Of The Dark. The return of Bruce is definately noticable.

People really like this album more than Brave New World? I mean, I like the album, but other than When the Wild Wind Blows, there's not anything as good as Ghost of the Navigator, Thin Line Between Love and Hate, Blood Brothers, or even Wicker man on this album to these ears. Then again, I have a lot of nostalgia with that album (as it was the return of Bruce!).

And yeah, Satellite 15 is pretty lame, but I have since used my Itunes to skip 4:36 in and so now it just starts at Final Frontier, which I've actually found that I quite like. At first I thought the song was very dull, but it's grown on me.

Either way....the album hasn't left my player since I bought it. So it's good in my book. I wish all the classic bands could still be as relevant today as they once were.

Like Metallica? :)  I haven't REALLY enjoyed anything of theirs since Load. ReLoad had 1 or 2 I liked but St. Anger and ... whever the last one was, I never even bothered to "borrow" from anyone.

Sorry Dusty but BNW was awful. This new Maiden is the first one I've liked since Dark, and even that album was hard for me to like - took months of listening to it. In all reality, this band really hasn't knocked me out of my socks since Somewhere In Time. Seventh Son was alright but didn't hit me all the way through. It's been that way with every Maiden album since.

It took you until Load to stop liking them? Most metal fans I know haven't heard anything relevant or entertaining from Metallica since Justice; me being one of them.
