Forgive me for asking, and pardon me if this seems rude: but how good of an artist/painter are you?

If I were you, I’d just pay the late tax. You may end up getting a repaint that is pretty expensive in its own right, and end up making it look really subpar (again, pardon me).

At that point you may be pulling out your hair and ordering another one because you made it look like Ronald McDonald.

You’ll save money/time/stress by paying the late tax.

 

Thanks, I found the one at RTB (it was misspelled so missed it before) but that's more than I'd like to pay. And I'm not looking for the ghost version.

Not so much with a brush, but I can do a pretty decent job with Tamiya paint pens on small figures, and I'm willing to accept a few imperfections if it means not having to pay about four times the price than the Redwing would be.

Red had never been transformed and has stayed as is on a shelf. Obsidian has been transformed twice. Both have no issues whatsoever and are in terrific shape. Sorry, that ended up on the back-burner. I was new to printing myself and had a lot to learn, then I got a lot better at designing. The arms, hands, and pelvis replacements are done, but the replacement heads need just a little bit more work. Right now I'm tied up with a couple product lines for other companies, so it's a passion project that I have to fit in where I can. I'm a simp for fembots, especially Slipstream, so it will get done in time.

Iron Factory has now finished the Rainmakers and the Welcoming Committee. They've shown they aren't afraid to do one-offs like Nacelle and Redwing. Sandstorm tells us that Blackout is undoubtedly coming. They could do some MTMTE Seekers (Famously the Raksha "Lady in Purple") and the FFoD Seekers, all of which are fun and very welcome.

Alternatively, they could dip into toy-centric decos.

Most people don't have a Starscream at this point. I understand and hugely respect their dedication to no reissues. But there's money on the table. Here are some rando Seeker/Starscream alternatives that could boost their sales and get everyone who wants one at least SOME Starscream.

EX-20J - Jade
Greenscream.

This MP-03 inspired Starscream looks great. We don't have a green Seeker yet, and the right forest green and navy blue make the red and gunmetal just pop. A solid choice for for the next wave of Seekers. The only reason he is so far down on this list is because people hate this version, and has never been seen since 2006. Even Hasbro seems to have forgotten it exists.

EX-20B - Alabaster
White Starscream

Starscream has traditionally been presented in toon-centric light-gray. But often in toys the base color comes out as white, while his red is a burnt orange and the baby blue is a dark indigo. This can be seen in Classics, Henkei, the American MP-03 release, Titanium, and several other lines. It's a good choice, and clearly Starscream, but this is my least favorite of the bunch. It seems like a cheap way out.

Classics Starscream

I like this guy *a lot*. He keeps the classic gray and red, but the blue is deeper and richer, and the wings are solid red. He adds some extra detailing over the shoulders, wings, knees and torso. Between the two classics options, this one if my favorite.

This Starscream is great. Solid blue arms and legs, darker gray color, great helmet, black cockpit. This is clearly "Starscream" while keeping the uniqueness of the original in tact. This is a solid entry and an option Iron Factory should absolutely look into.

EX-20Q - Quartz
G2 Starscream

Of everything on this list, this is far and away the most likely. the urban camo/snowy motif works so well. The gray is the same as EX-20 Starscream, but the blue is now gray and the gray is now white. Complete with white helmet. He's a wonderful and passable Starscream and one I expect Iron Factory to pull off shortly. I'm looking forward to it.

EX-20M - Malachite
Black Starscream

Far and away my favorite choice, Black Starscream keeps the same classic gray as the original, but the blue and red accents have been replaced with black. Even his wings are black. He is striking, imposing, and my personal choice. As a bonus, he should include gray wings that should have been included with Obsidian, to make the classic V1 Black Starscream. Because Hasbro has an issue with Novestorm being both neon yellow, and black and gold from the e-Hobby Black Starscream. But that's not Iron Factory's fault. They just need to fix it.

I would still love for Iron Factory to do a Shoji Kawamori Greenscream, ‘Til All Are One “True” ‘Scream, and a TransTech Starscream, but I think that might have to wait for a Seeker 2.0 mold.

As well, I’d love for Iron Factory to make at least some of the Cyberjets, but that might be too far afield.
