If we apply occam's razor to this situation we have two possibilities. 1. A transformers fan that does YouTube videos reviewing transformer toys, used an iconic transformers movie poster to create a symbol for their channel, and said symbol just happens to resemble a symbol you find offensive.

Yeah that's a fair point. That could be, but the two symbols are not identical. There are several differences. I still think it could be a Cybertronion eye.

 

I think the spokes of the wheel would be more stylized to look more like ridges on the Iris of possessed Prime if it were more innocent.

Instead, Sun’s logo looks more like Sig runes. Not exactly the same, flipped around a bit, but still uncomfortably similar.

Then there’s the fact that Sun’s symbol is banded, while Prime’s eyes are not.

Still, I don’t exactly enjoy derailing threads like this, either.

So, I’ll go back to hibernating on the issue again.

 

well i mean i don't think there is even much to debate here really.

that is no optimus's eye. that is clearly the nazi logo tweaked or not. that is definitely what it is. but sun obviously doesn't give a fuck. china didn't experience ww2 like others did so for them the nazi's weren't that bad. now if it were an old Japanese war symbol i am sure they would get it.


the best that we can do is point it out to people and let them decide if they can support it or not.

 

Not sure where did u learn your history. China has 2nd highest casualties after Soviet. During WW2 Chinese mostly fought Japanese which was part of Axis Naiz group. That's why lots of Chinese still hates Japanese, kind of like Polish people towards Germans.

Yeah, I agree with GrimLocke here, this SunofEmpire if he is a Chinese, then his picking of this symbol and the name is a very bad choice, because the symbol stands for Nazi and SunOfEmpire stands for Japan.

I will boycotty his channel from now on.

Yes, let's try to remember that symbols, like words, only offer as much meaning as you allow them to and that sometimes it's best to simply ignore that which you cannot change nor was ever intended to harm you in the first place.

No more weird than every other toy robot designed. Not like Takara are all that consistent with their designs on mainstream toys either.

he should look pretty decent. IF figs work well with other legend brands. even though they aren't strictly g1 i feel like their cybertron aesthetic works. in my mind they could be just returning from an off world mission.
