Isn't Tarn supposed to be all purple. The combined mode is not all purple

 

Nah, Tarn is purple, black and gold with silver and pink accents.

And getting the combiner to be all his color scheme would require their Vos, Kaon, Helex and Tesarus to all be those colors, which would kinda defeat the entire point of making DJD toys in the first place really.

That'd just be the entire team in tarns colors purely for this particular combiner and like cool as that would be, what would be the point of having the individual toys all like that. Would be kinda boring. If someone simply wants an ultra size tarn toy like this combiner is why not just spend half as much money and go buy Kultur instead?

 

The combined mode was just a bit of a bonus Easter egg so far as I was concerned, so while it is a cool feature, it's not one I'll be using. This is probably the only affordable way to get them all, and I really hope this leads to more of the MTMTE universe getting toys from IF down the line.

As always, a Nautica would be stellar.

They didn't. The gimmick here is just for fun.

 

I am more impressed by this than I thought I would be. I love the crazy of it. It's a flavor of obsessive that my take on Tarn would ride. Modding his team to combine into the ultimate engine of Deception Justice: himself but bigger.

Eh.. even if the figures didn't combine, I'm guessing they'd be sold for about the same prices.

And I find his combined mode color pallet no more offensive than G1 Bruticus or Mensasor... sure, some combiners have a unified color scheme, some don't. At least this guy has symmetry!

I think if the combined mode didn't look like a big Tarn, no one would give one shit about mixing the colors of the individual team members. But here we are..

I'm super glad IF made this and stayed true to the individual characters.

I think they also have a great opportunity to make a "Stealth Ops DJD" box set where everyone is black/purple for a unified Mega-Tarn, for those who can't get their heads around the fact that sometimes combiners aren't all the same color. The box set could even be just the other 4, and you could use the regular Tarn with either set.

This set is tempting me to get back into the legends game....

 

I mean, the DJD doesn't actually combine either...so there's no "proper colors" when it comes to their combined mode.
