Does anyone know a good way to repair those block joints on Alkaid? His bicep just sheared off and I don't have the money to buy another replacement piece for him.

I emailed IF months ago about Alkaid's flank having a similar issue, and I've yet to hear back from them. TFSource was alright with response, but I don't really have the cash for it 20200416_165223[1].jpg 20200416_165239[1].jpg

i need to grab my bot to check. but i would assume the top joint is the swivel and the bicep is the lower half of the peg right?

if so unscrew the shoulder get the peg head out and use a tiny screw to extract the bicep joint out.

run a pin or screw through the top of the joint head and reassemble and you are done. should take like 10 mins at most.

The bicep is one of those block joins that Alkaid uses to dismantle for big boi mode. The mount for that, where it screws into place, sheared off

here is the access for the arm joint. and it will still be the some process just a little shorter man. just free the joint from the elbow and reassemble it. 20200416_161129.jpg 20200416_161321.jpg

yeah no biggie if need be i will break my bot down to help if you need a more detailed rundown. but i dont think you will if you get that far.

there is also more that enough surface area on the elbow block for a larger screw if need be as well. you can find a wide variety of sizes that will work at homedepot in the machine screw bins section. they are only like 20 cents if that.

I just bought the set of these guys and my goodness is the combined form amazing. Really fun and satisfying to put together too. If I have any concerns it was trying to pry Helex apart. I thought for sure the shoulder joints were gonna snap off trying to pry them off.
For anyone that has separated and combined them multiple times, do the joints become easier to take off from the square pegs?

Also, I like to get the arms into this 45degree position before pulling off the forearm:
    IMG_20200419_121931.jpg

Hard to see, but it exposes all the black corners and lets me put fingers on either side:
    IMG_20200419_122202.jpg

This helps me make sure that pressure is distributed evenly around the swivel so I don't have to wiggle it back and forth as much, which can stress the plastic. I can just pull them straight apart.

A similar move can be done for the shoulder:
    IMG_20200419_123006.jpg IMG_20200419_123016.jpg
    IMG_20200419_123349.jpg

Again, this let's you apply pressure as close to the joint as possible, letting you pull apart without wiggling and stressing.

Just bought Helex. All I need is Tesarus. I’m slow to finishing up the team.
