I'd prefer IF to be as creative as can be (within the realm of still reflecting the character) - things like Bludgeon's spider-tank mode was perfect. Works for both the character and the style of the line and was something we don't see often in Transformers. I did find Lockdown's car mode to be quite boring and doesn't really fit in a line of Samurai IMO. Ideally Gigatron would retain the main 6 alt modes from the original design - which I consider an integral part of his charm. Since each mode wasn't particularly complex, I don't think it would that immense of an engineering feat. However, if I had to choose one alt mode, I'd probably go with a dragon.

I know it is more a western knight trope, but having a dragon for the samurai to slay would work.

Considering how many have been made, and how many are still to come, I assume they’re popular enough for Iron Factory to keep making them at the very least.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they did. They’ve got Grimlock to use as a base…

Yamata no Orochi is a multi-headed dragon from Japanese mythology that was slain by the sword bearing "antihero" esc god of wind, Susanoo. I don't know what Transformer character would work well for Susanoo (Drift? Depthcharge?) but a dragon still fits the Samurai aesthetic!

Tbh, all I need to see is metallic purple and I will be sold. :lol

I've got Nemesis Lio squaring up with Lio Convoy, tho an IFIS BWII Galvatron would be neat, albeit highly unlikely. I've also been enjoying making my way through BWII the last couple weeks, and will probably finish it tonight, and I've honestly been pleasantly surprised by its quality.

And, I was immediately sold on Fallen 2.0, though I don't often put down preorders, but I did for F2 and Maximus Delta.

So, while I have regretted not getting NA's D.Mags, I still think I was right to hesitate and wait for the big bad dimension hopper I was hoping for. Now, if only IF can give him a big honking sword instead of the cannon that the original had.

I am however unsure where exactly to put Delta Magnus, but if IF read the SG series, then hopefully we'll see a Shattered Glass Soundwave to oppose Delta Magnus.

As for the Fallen 2.0, I figure he should throw down with Grimlock, and presumably I'll have Arcee swinging in with Grim, too.

Finally, I enjoyed the original OpOp as a kid, but I don't love the OG deco. So, maybe I should wait to see how the release handles, seeing as I think the original run had some issues... maybe... .^.

Oh, wait--and of course I preordered the Seeker sisters, and I'm quite excited for them. :D

Speaking of Car Robots/RiD, I’d buy an IF RiD Optimus fire truck so fast it would make his head spin on its little ball joint.

I’m not huddle impressed with how the new alt mode setup looks. But since I missed our on the first version, and beggars can’t be choosers…

From what it looks like, the original IF-EX44 is being re-released with the original cab and Minimus Ambus, and if you want the new Magnus cab you'll have to separately purchase a IF-EX44 FG. Because it sounds like you only want the first version, you'd probably be safe just picking up that re-release.

I’ve been hanging on since I don’t have the original release, but I’m really unsure about the new Fallen. Will wait until actual pictures, of course, and scale will obviously be an important factor - but at the moment, visually, definitely preferring v.1…

I have no strong interest in the character— I know essentially nothing about The Fallen— and until you mentioned it, didn’t realize IF had already made one. Looking at v.1.0, it looks fine to me (given that it looks like a retool of Megatron, which I like). I haven’t seen enough of this new one to pass judgement, but it seems rather redundant. Maybe they wanted to add the flames, though that’s the only part that I definitely don’t like. I don’t like light and other energy effects molded in plastic.

I keep wanting a HeadMastered re-do of Energon Demolisher, and IF could do it well.

I would definitely be on the hook for IF versions of Black Convoy, Fire Convoy, and God Magnus…

Initially it seemed such an odd choice that I wondered if it might be an Iron Samurai figure, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Could well wow me when it’s shown in plastic, of course (and I wouldn’t be surprised if the fire is removable ‘blast effects’)!

Why a headmaster version of Demolisher specifically? I’m not familiar with the fiction.

I like the 1.0 quite a bit, and I will be keeping it when the 2.0 arrives.

But, the original's transformation isn't great and the shoulders get in the way of some poses, namely trying to have the arm straight out with the Fallen looking down the barrel, alas.

I also just really like how it seems to be a shrunk down version of FlameToys' Fallen, but with a wicked zweihander instead of a chainsaw.

And, I highly recommend reading the War Within. I loved it when I was a teen, though I haven't read it since, but probably should ahead of RotB.

Every toy is better when it can tear its head off before going into battle. I'm *greatly* saddened the TF community has moved on from the HeadMasters as I think each and every single solitary Transformer made should have a HeadMaster when manufacturing allows. It's just such a stupidly awesome concept to ever choose to not use, imho.

And Demolisher was just a great design in both modes, imho. I didn't watch the cartoon or whatnot so I don't 'know' anything about him beyond his looks. Really, all his original toy needs is a swivel hindarm joint, ball shoulders, and some proper hands to be perfect for me.

So is the new Ultra Magnus just essentially the same figure but remolded to fit a core bot instead of Minimus Ambus? Neat change if so, but I’m happy with the current beefy Ultra Magnus. Still tempted by the SG one though, even though I don’t really need it; I just want the core bot

Unfortunately, I don't think you'll be able to get IF's Powered Convoy separate from Maximus Delta.

And, it seems that the new inner Magnus requires no remolding and will replace the faux cab and Minimus Ambus of the original Maximus Ambus, altogether.
