Which Evan even kind help support that by saying the Dinobots for Core Class where a easy sell because Dinosaurus. Kids love Dinosaurs (and pretty much everyone should).

 

I'm only 12 minutes or so into this interview but it is awesome! Mark and Evan are awesome - we are so blessed to have them on the Transformers team. They really seem to enjoy each other and the Transformers brand. I hope they stay with the brand for a long time!

Mark is comedy gold:

Mark says (in regards to having more GoBots as a kid) "Transformers were expensive back then!" Um, like they aren’t now? Lol.

Mark says (in regards to favorite childhood Transformers memories) "My brain is so fried - I can't remember much from back then." Lol.

Loved Evan's comment about when his Strafe broke. His dad told him to take a deep breath and figure out how to fix it - a mentality that he uses to this day as a toy designer.

Mark - if you are reading this - you said your first Transformer was Astrotrain. Please try re-release his G1 toy with the extending arms, head, and colors that he had as a prototype. You owe it to Astrotrain! Do it! Please! Pretty please!

Man.. I hope the exclusives they couldn't talk about are Machine Wars. We have almost all of the molds for them, now. It's probably Dinoking, though.

 

I think one of them is probably. But all of them no since they know we know Dinoking will happen out of Volcanicus. So maybe it is Machine Wars. But I could see it being something else.

 

Don’t tempt me now. They could easily redeco Selects Rotorstorm as MW Sandstorm if they wanted to. (But Dinoking would also be great. I’d love seeing Victory characters in a Generations line.)

 

The sunlight shining on Russ's toys in the back, especially that Shining Magnus, is killing me.

 

I think, based on Evan's comment, that Dinoking will be an exclusive somewhere, probably as a set.

As for Machine Wars, they already have over half of the molds needed to update them, if not make them exact.

Prowl & Mirage - ER Mirage (no remolding needed... unless they want to give Prowl and a more "Prowl-y" head)
Hoist & Hubcap - Maybe an ER Hoist retool? Maybe a retool of the new Junkion?
Megatron & Megaplex - Hopefully we get an Energon Starcream to retool them out of.
Thundercracker & Skywarp - Needlenose retool (they'd lose the chest cockpits, but the jet modes would be close, at least)
Soundwave - ER Doubledealer (new head and maybe replace bird parts with something)
Starscream - Legacy Skyquake (no remolding needed)
Sandstorm - Selects Rotorstorm (no remolding needed)
Optimus Prime - Still waiting for Thunderclash so we can have him... Maybe that's what Motormaster is being retooled into.

I doubt the shells would be included with Dinoking since the alt modes are effectively taking the place of the shells

 

None, they where asked about that.

 

Hopefully it’ll be in Selects or some other subline that’s easy to get.

If a combining Thunderclash became reality, I’d buy the whole set. It’d be more interesting to me than another set of Stunticons (unless they were redecoes of the Legacy figures that served as companion pieces for Shadowstrip).

 

Now if only MotU had the same project managers with the same idealism and zeal!  Hey! Cybertron Forever!

It’s an inevitability at this point it seems. When they revealed Slug n Sludge didn’t Evan even make a reference to fans already guessing their retools?

Seems like a weird thing to like ask em about but idk… doesn’t strike me as something super cool thing that needs to be brought back.

Anyways I’d like to get a chance to ask em questions mainly so I can campaign for a new chug HFTD Jetblade. I feel like I may be the only one who wants one but eh. Anything’s possible I suppose.
