Just happened to catch a clip the other day, haven't been a big fan of Nolan's films b4, but I think I might have to check this one out. It has nothing to do with Matthew...not a thing.
I'm going to pass on the IMAX. I don't find the price and amount of time you need to arrive to the theater beforehand just to get good seats to be worth it.
The Tech Museum has a 70MM projector?! Okay, now I gotta get my friend to go watch this with me on that day. EDIT : It plays on the 7th of that month instead, a Friday. Works much better for me
Um No.. That Featurette is nothing more than Nolan showing off that he has top scientific advisers involved in the filming. I would expect a true worm / black hole theory featurette to include hawking radiation, true time dilation in regards to relative constant acceleration against a "static" / non linear event - IE the faster you get to the speed of light, the more constant your speed stays. Once At the point of FTL, each step up is multiple by the power of 10-100 - IE almost like warp field/speed theory. Also not every "black hole" is the same, in terms of appearance or mass. You have Supermassive blackholes which seem to be at the center of every known galaxy, but then you also have supermicro black holes- so small the size of an atom, yet the mass of a planet.

'Interstellar's' Christopher Nolan, Stars Gather to Reveal Secrets of the Year's Most Mysterious Film
Early reviews make this seem like a glorified popcorn flick. I'm still excited, but my expectations are a bit more grounded now
Some of the reviews that i looked over from the Boston papers said this movie was outstanding, and even though there is a massaive amount of real world " techno-babble" The film explains it in such a way that even a layman can understand. I believe the quote was something to the effect of " Nolan trusts his audiences to grasp the general idea, even if you don't understand the minute details." Spoiler There are 2 different missions into the wormhole. Mconaughey mission is the 2nd. 10 years prior ( Earth Time) Nasa had sent a team into the wormhole for an "advanced mission" That advanced Mission found 3 possible planets for human habitation. The interstellar mission is to see if those planets can support life. By the time the 2nd mission comes around there are only two scenarios to save Humanity - Earth MUST be abandoned in both scenarios. 1 - If planets can sustain life find way to transport entire or large amount of humanity off Earth. Option 2 - "Re-Seed" - Forget saving the Earth and Majority of population. Start new Human civilization in the stars, separate from the remnants of Earth" The Door looking robot is called TARS - He is sentient and happens to be a former Combat "robot" for the US Army - By the time the interstaller mission launches, ALL Militaries of the Planet have been disbanded.
