I bet most of you who read that one (assuming you DO read Shortpacked!, that is) will have wondered "Butch WHO?" Well, so did I, until Skyblitz showed me this.

That's gotta be the most stupid thing I've ever seen. And I've seen the entire G1 cartoon.

- Bumblebee looks like an amalgamation of the WORST elements of his toy design and his cartoon model.
- Optimus Prime looks skinny.
- No, I will not even BOTHER to comment on the stupid story.
- Butch's and Sparkplug's detailed faces look seriously out of place among the Dery robot designs.
- The Autobots and Decepticons are shown in poses directly lifted from their character model sheets more often than not.
- That's gotta be the largest rabbit I've ever seen. And he's not even scared of that giant metal thing.
- Optimus Prime throws a ROCK at Megatron.
- Prime's "Combat Deck" looks like his Cybertronian alt mode from Marvel #1.
- Megatron is holding his Fusion Cannon like a regular gun.
- Hound has a "Trick Light" rather than a Hologram Gun.
- God, Bumblebee looks RIDICULOUS with that giant block behind his flat head.
- Optimus and Bumblebee as gardeners.

That thing is AWESOME.

Now I question whether or not I even LIKE transformers anymore.

It's just that bad.

 

That coloring book rules. I'mma print it out for my little nephew to detail. There were lots of old coloring books like that. 

 

Megatron is "super-angry". I also particularly enjoy how the Autobots repair trees that have been shot by lasers and smashed in half by, apparantly, standing them on their ends and RAKING them.

Man, you've missed out on this one Nevermore. There are lots of G1 coloring books, and they're ALL that bad. Some are WORSE, believe it or not.

 

 

Hmm. I used to have some of those TF coloring books (shut up!), but definitely not that one. That said, I swear some of those panels are just re-used from other books, particularly the one with Bumblebee looking at the deer, the one with Megs watching the jets taking off and the one with Bumblebee catching Laserbeak in the net. They just look reallyreally familiar, though the rest of it, and the 'plot' are definitely not.

 

Never liked Shortpacked, but that colouring book is bloody funny as hell. I mean, damn. That crap makes the G1 cartoon look GOOD...

 

Well, Megatron holding his fusion cannon isn't surprising. His earliest, earliest concepts (which crept into the very first animated clips used for the original runs of commercials) depict him in a style not a million miles away from that. Though, the body is out. That early Megatron had a different head and chest, but this is the finalised one.

And man, that colouring book is horrid.

 

I'm gonna print this out and color it right now! Can't wait.

Edit: Wait a minute, how big is that bunny to be to scale with Prime? What is this Chernobyl Forrest?

 

Well, that was pretty hilaroius!  

Apparently, Megatron dreams of mass-producing Soundwave and Starscream, Screamer loves to follow Megs' orders, and giant mutant bunny rabbits fear NOTHING.

Also, did anyone notice that in one page, Screamer and Soundwave have stolen Megatron's body? I guess Walther P-38 is all the rage this year.

Someone did a parody of this YEARS ago where they replaced all the text with absolutely hilarious commentary. A quick google search has netted me nothing - anybody remember that and can post a link?

The Autobots are going on vacation, and the first thing Prime can say is "It's too quiet, I'll bet the Decepticons are up to something!" ?! Well that's just great, go ahead and ruin it for everyone else. Prime IS a dick!

I love how Hound transforms and his gun is hermetically sealed to his hand. "Is that a gun in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?" "Oh no. It's my hand."

Wow. This is mind numbingly bad. >_< I do love the satirical one though...far too good.

You'll note that all three of the pages (and a couple more) I mentioned reappear in that one..which I definitely remember owning. So, um...there. Yeah.

Except the bots are drawn differently. Bumblebee has those wierd eyes in this one..
