The Inhumanoids television show and Hasbro toyline is perhaps a bit less well known today, but was a very important part of my childhood. What’s not to like about 10 story tall monsters from the center of the Earth voiced by Chris Latta? The vintage D-Compose toy was completely dismantled and rebuilt to be 2-inches taller, include room inside for an inner pretender robot, and a removable magnetic back hatch to allow access. The improved D-compose has new hands, a pelvis and hip bones, a neck, and a scratch built alternate cartoon accurate head. Parts from a MOTU Battle Bones 200X, Fantastic Four Moleman monster, Spawn Violator figures, and the Violator Chopper were used to update D-Compose. The Battle Bones head had to be cut in half, trimmed down considerable, and put back together and scuplted to make a smaller head. A missile firing bone club weapon accessory was kitbashed from leftover parts. He was given the most detailed and disgusting paint job I could muster with lots of sores and oozing puss and blood for good measure. Almost all of the gory detail was on the original D-Compose toy, it needed some extra paint to bring it out. D Compose is part of an ongoing project to upgrade the Inhumanoids figure line. Here are my other entries so far: Earth Corps Blackthorn Shore Metlar D Compose V2 D Compose can also serve as a Pretender Shell for MP Starscream. More on that here. MISC Here is the only other D Compose custom I've been able to find on the world wide web. By Hammer of the Gods on Figure Realm What he looked like in the cartoon & comic (way different than the toy): A cool catalog showing pre-production versions of the toy lines (definitely better than what was produced!)
Now i get it.....just commented on the starscream one, i didnt know who d-compose was. Totaly get it now. Great work mate.
This thing is awesome, I also am an eighties kids and I fondly remember watching the Inhumanoinds as well as a few others, like Robotix, Bigfoot and the Muscle Machines, Dungeons and Dragons etc... ah the memories. So cool!
Woah, Inhumanoids! I thought they were consigned to the dustbin of history already. Good job! Really rotten-looking.
This is amazing man, your work on these figures is top notch. I love what you did with the Earth Core updates. I also think D Compose needs some zombie minions like he did on the show
Awesome work! Inhumanoids is still an awesome series to this day, I wonder why hasbro hasn't thought to bring it back yet.
DEEEE-COOOOOM-POOOOSE! Love the fleshy-ness of this guy...decaying fleshy-ness that is. I'm off to Youtube to play the intro music cause it's stuck in my head
Oh man I used to love this show back in the day. The 80's had the best cartoon hands down and I love seeing you upgrade these guys. I've looked at all of your Inhumanoid customs and they are all AWESOME!!!!! I think I'm going to buy the complete series on dvd and relive some of the best times in my childhood!!!! I would love to see what you could do with Spiral Zone!!!!
I can't un-see that now. I'm actually making a new head for it anyway out of an Indominus Rex...pics soon!
Sorry bud, the work is very solid. This was a pretty cool line back in the day. Glad to see it getting some love
