After Optimus died, the autobots turned up as a group to save Sam, but Ironhide and co allowed Sam to disappear with Bee and the twins... why?

I'd thought they all would stick together and keep Sam safe? Instead of leaving Bee & the twins to protect him.

Sorry if this is a random question, but im watching ROTF on channel 4+ (in UK), and that scene just happened. They were all together but then randomly separated.

 

Sam became a fugitive and bee and the twins were assigned to keep him safe, they had to split up

 

And I just realized, no one suddenly went, "hey! We have 3 Autobots who just went rogue! Where are they?"

 

Bumblebee wasn't a part of NEST at that time, and I always figured they had bigger things to worry about than 2 jackhole rookie Autobots.

 

Skids and Mudflap were effectively useless to the Autobots and NEST. Bumblebee, in ROTF wasn't apart of NEST and was still assigned baby sitting duties even though Sam said he should be with Optimus, Ratchet, etc...

In DOTM, he said to BB "You can't come hang out?" picky bastard.

 

Ratchet yelled to Bee to get the humans out of danger. He drove off with the twins flanking him, to protect him and his human cargo. Meanwhile, the other Bots were still fighting the Cons as 'yellow team' took off. Since the humans basically became wanted by every government entity on the face of the planet, they couldn't go back to the base. Sam and the others would've been taken into custody (don't forget that douchebag Galloway was there waiting for the others to show up). So, Bee and the twins had to take the humans into hiding acting as their guardians. It also allowed for Sam and the others to regroup and focus. As soon as the other Bots arrived at base, NEST was ordered to take them back to Diego Garcia.

 

But why couldn't all of the Autobots follow them? or why didn't Ironhide (or someone) go with them....im sure he would be a better guardian since he's strong (and cool   )

 

he wasn't any good at blending in like a ninja

 

Sideswipe and Ratchet should have gone with them.

Skids and Mudflap, although I don't hate them are utterly pointless characters that could have been designed and portrayed better.

 

You wouldn't know that from some people, who dream up what-if scenarios of the two going out in a blaze of heroic glory as Sentinel Prime blasted them to pieces in DOTM.

 

that's not a dreamed up what if scenario that was in the original script I believe. Hence why you can see the Twins in vehicle form in at least one scene if I recall

 

If you think about it: All the adult Bots returned to base,while those on the run are all younglings (Bee, the twins,Sam, Mikaela and Leo).  

 

It was an excuse to stick two of the worst comic relief characters with the main party for the duration of the film.

why couldn't it have been with Jolt, Sideswipe and/or Arcee instead.

 

If Ironhide and Ratchet went with the others who was gonna hold off Megatron and Starscream??

 

Ironhide could have easily caught up with Sam and Bee! As soon as Megatron and Starscream flew off, Bee wasn't that far in front, so Ironhide just needed to catch up.

The two i would of liked to go off with Bee is Ironhide and Sideswipe, 2 badasses, plus that way their team work in DOTM would mean something.

 

Could you imagine Swipe and Hide's reaction to Jetfire?  

 

haha yeah! Ironhide would be like "are we really going to trust this old punk?!" and after being teleported to Egypt Ironhide would get his cannons out and say "you dare hurt me?! i'll tear you apart!" also, Ironhide would threaten Leo if he kept screaming haha!

Sideswipe on the other hand, he would be the cool bot! He would be the one to find out that you have got to blast the wall to find the tomb of primes!

Can you imagine Ironhide and Sideswipe's reaction to Devastater? That would be awesome! watching the both of them taking Devastater on!

Sideswipe "humans, take cover! we've got this big boy under control!"

Damn....now i really wish Sideswipe and Ironhide went with Bee! I do like the twins...but Swipes and hide would be a better duo!

 

I completely agree. I would have loved to have seen Swipe attempt a little Jet Judo on Screamer, too. 

 

Yes! Also in DOTM, wasn't Starscream suppose to kill Dino? If he was then that should have stayed in the film! screw Ferrari!

 

But he was, they show bb with Dino attacking that missile silo
