Okay, so I'm working on a project and hit a wall. I need articulated feathered wings suitable for an 8" figure. I did pick up some Gundam add-on ones, but they're pretty flimsy and disappointingly fragile. I have looked at Marvel Archangel and MotU Vultak, but both are pretty expensive just to rip apart. Would anyone be able to suggest any other options?
I'm staying away from Gundam and mechanical ones and looking for something more realistic. Thanks for the imput though.
A Junker Tigerhawk or Razorclaw might be a good starting point. It would depend on how much articulation you need.
Good suggestions, and they're ones I was actually considering. The only issue is that the wings are broken up by a huge circular joint, which goes against what I was trying to get. In the end, I have decided to make them from scratch (see here: Customs: - Project SB-1 ).
There's that old digivolving Garudamon. Ball joint at the base and hinge joint in the middle. I have one (KO) so I can take pictures of it next to some transformers so you can see the size.
Sorry. Days when I don't go to work are the ones with the least free time for me. But managed to remember this morning and took a moment to search for it while I was getting ready for work. Difference in color is because base part is harder plastic, for ball joint reasons, I suppose. Don't know if only this KO is like that.
Thanks for the pics! They do look functional, but not really "bird of prey"-like. I think the big curvature kind of hurts the design. I do appreciate you checking, though! I think I'm going to go with these:
Try Ebay or a site I found recently: mercari.com. I found some stuff on there that was considerably cheap. Maybe that could help!
I actually got the MotU fiure posted above. The wings are decent, but need support as the plastic is pretty weak.
