May Mr Schumacher's soul rest in peace.

Of his films, I can say I enjoyed BAD COMPANY and FALLING DOWN.

Rip MR.Schumacher unlike many of today's film makes he listened to audience feedback and apologized for Batman and Robin. So at the very least he was a stand up guy.
Plus he brought us movies like the Lost Boys, falling down, St.Elmo's fire and more. So he could make good films. Batman and Robin was just a mistake and he admitted to it. I wish many modern film makers had his level integrity.

Joel Schumacher also made The Lost Boys and Phone Booth as well. He’s got a solid resume, and it’s unfortunate that Batman and Robin is what he’s most known for; especially when we probably would have gotten a similar movie from some other director given WB’s push for a lighter tone

I'd rather be known for basically remaking Adam West Batman with 100 million dollars then for something as fucking boring as Batman vs Supeman, so fair play to the dude and people that are still mad about that movie now there are loads more Batman movies need to get over the notion that dudes dressing in silly costumes to punch people is by default serious business.

Rest in peace, Schumacher. He may have made Batman Forever and Batman & Robin, but you know what? I actually consider those two to be nice little tributes to the Adam West Batman show. Besides, there are far worse movies than those.

Aww, son of a submariner :( . It took me a while, and to learn more about Batman arcana, but I learned to respect his Batman movies. I may not have liked them, but they are no less a legitimate representation than those that came before or after. Hell, I’m a better world Schumacher may have been the man we needed to make a Brave and the Bold style movie.

Look out for Joel Schumacher in his prime in the music video for Borderline where he plays the photographer who flirts along with Madonna ...until she accidentally spraypaints his Datsun!

I’m not familiar with him either, but apparently he was a comic book artist and WWII veteran, so I tip my hat to him just for that.
