    Wow. 97. Long life.

Been listening to Now Playing podcasts, specifically their old James Bond retrospective over the past week or so. About to start Liscense to Kill.

I just found out that David Ogden Stiers, Major Charles Winchester III on M*A*S*H passed away today. He was 75. As a big fan of him on M*A*S*H and a lot of other projects, this really hurts. I'll have to dig out my box set and watch some in his memory. Rest In Peace, Major Winchester......

Cogsworth was my absolute favorite on Beauty and the Beast. So terribly sad to hear. I also deeply loved old Jumba Jookiba.

And he pulled double duty by voicing both Governor Ratcliffe and his suck-up attendant Wiggins in Pocahontas. RIP.

Although I had no idea he voiced Cogsworth and Beauty And The Beast is my most favorite Disney movie! :cry

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

he was such a good voice actor. When Pocahontas was released, you could not convince me that Ratcliffe and Wiggins where voiced by the same actor.

In Jungle 2 Jungle, he played the Russian guy and was about to cut off one of Martin Short's fingers saying "Eeni, meeni, mi-oop, need that one for traffic..." That had me rollin'!

    Rest in peace, Mr. Stiers.

He also had a small, understated role as the Archdeacon in Hunchback. And he also was amazing narrating the prologue of Beauty and the Beast.

He was absolutely brilliant as Lane's father in "Better Off Dead", it should be checked out.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he also play Martian Manhunter in the JLA pilot from the 90's?

Farewell, David Ogden Stiers. Major Winchester and the original Cogsworth (he worked on other Disney films too, but Cogsworth remains his most renowned).

    Thank you for the laughs.

David Ogden Stiers was Martian Manhunter in an unaired pilot of justice league, was the voice of Penguin in Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman, and the voice of Solovar in Justice League/ Unlimited. RIP good sir
