i will always take straight up black windows over the transparent ones. especially in my case as i collect movie bots. so much for "robots in disguise" lol

 

yeah Motormaster and Cliffjumper look great imo with the painted windows

It fits with the cartoon look.

 

Clear windows are great when attached to the non clear plastic parts. Which is the way it SHOULD be done.

 

I know, right? If you can see robot parts through the clear plastic windows, it's no longer a disguise, lol.

I mean, look at Studio Series Bonecrusher. All windows painted, and looks wonderful! More of that, please.

 

I have the ER version with the 3p feet replacements so I'm in two minds about getting this. He looks good, and I am tempted.

When we see more closer to the time, I'll decide then.

I have the masterpiece version also and, much as I like him he is a bit too chubby. The proportions are better for this. On the other hand there's something about the waist I'm not keen on here, but I think that might just be the way they posed and shot the picture.

 

I wish they had used ER Prime style hip joints instead of skirts, but I still like it way better than any previous Ironhide thus far.
I wasn't able to get the ER version. But even if I had at a reasonable price, it's still around 30$ worth of upgrades and more customizing of my own away from being acceptable.
The only thing I have to do to SS86 is add the stripe assuming the version in the pics is the retail one.

 

I'm hoping that they do a Buzzworthy Bumblebee version like they did for Kup and Cliff-jumper that doesn't have the clear plastic and that can help get all the reds the same color. Target does like red figures for their exclusives.

I'm also really hoping that they get the yellowing plastic figured out before the Ratchet version of the mold.

 

if they do a ratchet hope they used the type of plastic they used on jhiaxus who atleast from what i know hasnt had any yellowing

 

oh wow, pretty neat it seems to ditch the sled completely...

Not to beat a dead horse, but looking carefully at the pics of robot and alt mode, the nubs on the roof look like they will end up on the back of the legs facing out.
Given the likely placement and since SS86 isn't all about tons of 5mm ports everywhere, I think those nubs are indeed where light bar pieces for Ratchet will attach.

Ninja'd by the new pics, but I see I was right about the placement.

The face is pretty damn close to the cartoon. Whoever did the Masterpiece face needs his eyes checked.

 

LOVE that style of shoulder, where he can raise his arms and not look totally weird.
