I was hoping they'd use silver paint on G1 Megatron. Would have set him apart from the chromed versions yet still would have looked good. This one looks like they were trying to match the look of DotM Megatron, but poor Megs just looks like Jennifer Aniston on the cover of Rolling Stone - naked and beige.
Still wish we had a trailer compatible with leader class Prime. Tempted to radicon my own now. These two don't look half bad, would get them if I didn't already own both DotM figures. Is that a porta-potty that transforms into a missle platform? Hell, I'd buy it.
I think the G1 Megatron is supposed to reflect the hobo look of the DOTM counterpart. I am happy that this G1 Megatron is not chromed as it distinguished it from the others. I already have 2 other versions of G1 Megatron and I prefer to see them different. If people want a chromed G1 Megatron it is not that hard to find.
The TF market is absolutley flooded with chrome Megatrons. I personally prefer this one. I looks great by me.
the G1 megs definitely needs his chrome. must admit the movie megs is my surprise favourite DOTM toy and that version is pretty cool.
thats what i was thinking , ive also 2 chromed versions and kinda like the megaplex or microman look, im not sure but i dont think he ever chromed until he became a transormer?
I love the G1 Megs. Still such an intriguing and odd piece of design work after all this time. And, beige or not, that figure - with it's metal pieces - looks a billion times more expensive than the DOTM counterpart. The ingenuity of the transformations has come on leaps and bounds over the years, but seemingly alongside the ability to look like $2 plastic crap.
something that bothers me about the Megatron set is that they used a nice bright silver paint to mimic the chrome on the DotM figure, but... they wen't with that super fugly tannish beige color on the G1 version.. WTF?!?! I know it's more paint apps, I get that, but why not? I would have liked the set a lot more if they had painted the G1 Megs in that nice shiny silver paint! Meh.. Can't afford them anyway..
^Pretty much this. But Id love it if Chronicle Prime came with the resculpted MP-10 head (mini-scale), but eh..you cant have your cake and eat it too, right!
is there a particular reason of why Japan gets the good stuff and why Hasbro dosent make these toys here????? this figure is like 120 dollars when it should be around the 50 to 60 dollar mark here in the US... why Sentinel, Why?????
