Generations SCOURGE ALT MODE photos Transformers Classics 3.0
Thanks mike at ko for the great early pics as always sorry for posting these so early but liked the mold so well had to show them.

 

Still like his flying wing mode.

 

That isn't the greatest-looking alt mode, but Scourge's robot mode more than makes up for it. It's an interesting new take on Scourge (and better than the "flying soap/boat" mode) but the blue kibbly-looking part on the back half is what's bothering me.

Normally I'm all up for updates/re-interpretations (for instance, I like Perceptor as a half-track) but I dunno... I still prefer Scourge's original "space boat" mode to this flying wing. I always just found something really appealing about it, and I think it had a lot of personality. Nevertheless, this figure looks really nice, and there is no question that it is Scourge.

Funny, you could almost re-create the G1 look by just removing his wings.

EDIT: Kinda weird how the blue lining just stops at his wings. If they wanted to save paint apps, you'd think it could have been tapered off a little more smoothly to help the aerodynamic look.

 

Could use a bit more paint(mainly on his head antenna-thingy) but otherwise I like it.

 

Even his vehicle mode looks pretty good. Can't wait for bot mode pics.

 

Now, this is a case where the altmode is a nice update, but not slavish. I prefer this to the original's altmode, and will be unloading my Titanium Scourge at some point in anticipation of this figure.

 

I bet it'll look even better properly transformed.

 

Well, part of the kibbly problem is that the arms are mistransformed in these pics. They should be rotated 180 degrees, hiding the fists, and making the engines more flush with the shape of the aircraft, rather than sticking out so far in the back. Because other than that, it's pretty smooth. Just would've benefited with some more paint to tie the whole thing together more, rather than all the numerous abrupt stops in the paint deco.

 

Warming up to it, but won't toss my Botcon Scourge out just yet. Peaugh ought to have a review up sooner or later. I'll reserve judgment until then. Interesting that the wings have a seam splitting them horizontally (as seen from the back). Transformation or an assembly error?

 

The wings look really unpainted. The paint just stops, yet the leading edge engraving continues...

 

I'm still raging about him NOT having a Targetmaster.  

 

Yeah, the arms seem to be the wrong way around.

Even accepting the mistransformation, there's nothing particularly exciting here. I feel like they maybe should have gone with the original altmode. Not because it's better, but because this isn't much of an improvement.

yeah, it'd look better if they continued the blue line to the end of the wings. If we're lucky, maybe there'll be a running change to that.

 

Looks bad, I was pumped about this guy not so much now. He looks so bland I hope the Untied version adds some paint to this mode.

 

I like him ever more I soo buy him with 3 others as Sweeps (I ever number them).

 

I think it looks cool, and as much of a g1 cartoon fan I am, his new alt mode makes much more sense than the flying boat. Will definitely pick up a few of these guys

 

So it's the Scourge from the movie, and season 3, as opposed to the Scourge from two episodes of the Rebirth trilogy.

 

A bit boring but I will get one for the bot mode

 

Looks nice enough, probably snap him up under preorder.
