AoE Galvatron wasn't even designed to transform, though, he just...flies apart and then reassembles. Plus to this day I don't get why people like that rejected concept for an 80s Power Rangers rubber suit monster-of-the-week.

 

AOE Galvatron was a better figure than it should have been. Its definitely a shell former and has a decent sized backpack but the way it compresses is cool. I wish that I still had ROTF Brawn, he was such a cool figure.

this is ALSO titanium man, but we only know that because we’ve been TOLD that it’s titanium man, both in the episode title and that it’s also been EXPLICITLY stated by characters in the show. But if we were not told it was titanium man, we wouldn’t know who it was. It’s the same for most bayverse designs. If they did not tell us who it is, we wouldn’t know.
At least, that’s my reasoning.

 

the fun way to explain that would be the Autobots wanting to appear more humanoid than they were before so that they wouldnt freak out every human they came across, whereas the Decepticons don't care because they dont like humans why cater to their preferences, therefore their bodies are more similar to their Cybertronian forms than the Autobot's bodies were when they came to Earth

ig this is mostly a "how much are you willing to think about this" kind of explanation

 

One time on this site I read a pretty rad headcanon concept about why the Decepticons look so monstrous: sorta playing into how Cybertron looks like a giant hive. They're far more insectoid / beastly due to being more primitive / less evolved than the more advanced / civilized Autobots.

 

I think I said something like that in the headcannon thread.
