In 2026 do you think that any beast wars figures will be mostly Transmetal’s?

It’s BW’s anniversary so I think we will see Transmetals 1’s come into play

All I care about in a 30th anniversary of Beast Wars is Quickstrike!

Maybe one per wave, there's still more Beast Wars characters that aren't Transmetal from Japan.

But if we can get an updated Transmetal Optimus from future lines then I'd be very happy since that's one of my favorite designs for Primal.

I think it'll be a mix of some Transmittals (2-4) and some JBW characters.

Well, it's possible they could do them via Gamer Edition.

    Thanks to the PS1 & N64 titles.

    Probably, right?
Going purely based off the show characters, the only non transmetal design that hasn't been done is quickstrike, and he's a pretty easily achieved deluxe.
Personally, I think the priority should be characters without toys before TM versions of the cast. Depth charge and rampage are both technically transmetal toys, so hopefully we get them as rival leaders. Then we'll see about dinobot II, cheetor(s), Optimus(s), Megatron , tarantulas, blackarachnia or rattrap.

I'm not personally convinced Hasbro is particularly interested in celebrating any anniversaries that aren't connected directly to the Sunbow cartoon. But I do think they'll get to Transmetals as they run out of other stuff to remake. TM Megatron is such low-hanging fruit (the design the character had for what is arguably the money shot of the show, and the American release of the original toy breaks if you breathe on it) that I suspect they're trying to figure out how to do chrome that doesn't immediately flake apart but is within budget.

Personally, I would prefer they not. Use metallic paint like on G2 Dead End, that looked good! It's fine. The Transmetal toys are good despite the chrome, not because of it.

The Transmetals don't really need chroming on remakes. Pearlescent paint and plastic will get the job done, as we saw on Tigerhawk's purple bits. Otherwise various shades of standard metal-stand-in silver and bronze plastics will do. You don't need chromed parts to sell the "sleek, shiny, futuristic robot" look.

The sharply silver look of Dramatic Capture Series Megatron is another example of achieving the same vibe through paint alone.

It would be nice, even if they just reissue Megatron (Armada alterations to the tooling don't matter) and Optimus with metallic paint instead of the chrome it would go down well.

I doubt we'll see it if anything like the 20th though where the focus was on the 30th Anniversary of the 86 movie

I'm hoping to see some new toys of characters that haven't gotten a modern retail release yet, like Quickstrike, Rampage, and Depth Charge.

If they want to do Transmetals but won't/can't do vac-metal chrome, one option I might accept is a 'candy coat' glossy metallic paint, like what appeared on the "Autobot Heroes 5-pack" version of CW Ultra Magnus.

I mean given that they've finished up the season 1 cast them doing the next two season casts is the most logical route. Likewise with them reissuing the BW Kingdom and Legacy molds to give people who missed out on them the first time around another chance for BW's 30th anniversary.

Just give me Depthcharge, Rampage, Quickstrike and TM1 Megatron and I'll be happy with my Beast Wars redos.

Just reissue the originals? I consider them good enough to stand up against new stuff anyways (at least for many of them)

    My requirements:
NO CHROME (high gloss finish on metallic paint will do)
    Modern articulation

Not that the originals can't stand up to them, but it'd be nice to have versions that aren't chrome with super obvious signs of wear and age by faded/chipped chrome. Plus added articulation never hurts. I'd also like Rattrap to come with a seat for Dinobot to sit on :D

I'd rather not. SS already has enough problems finishing off the the casts from the first 3 films.

I would love it but there's a bit of a trap here in that the original TM1 figures were so good there's not much to do to improve them. Would like to find a way to fill out TM1 Cheetor's torso in flight mode, but other than small changes to deco, sculpt, and articulation, there's not much room to improve. I'm sure a lot of you young SOBs will be happy to have figures you didn't get to experience the first time, but for old collectors like me, it is going to be hard to not be disappointed in what will be, at best, a minor update.

You say that, but that just makes the flawed TM1 figures stand out all the more.

Depth Charge can't stand up without his tail as a tripod and has a ridiculous footprint as a result.

Rampage is a fiddly mess. And the CGI model moved the crab legs so he's an inaccurate fiddly mess. An ambitious one, to be fair, but still a mess.

Rattrap's back shell was upside down, plus he's infamously flakey. Also a terrible facesculpt and no gun. Those last two apply to Cheetor as well, who lacks the articulation to really join his cheetah head together as a blaster.

TM1 Megatron is a disaster waiting to happen. The basic figure was mostly fine (barring the fairly narrow waist connection which exacerbated the GPS), but it remains that not just the "young SOBs" that need a new version of this figure.

So... yeah. By my count, the only show TM1 character who basically works in a modern collection is Primal.

I desperately wish we got updates to Depth Charge and Rampage rather than the pair of Tigerhawk and TM2 Megatron. They needed the updates way, way more.

EDIT: Forgot Tarantulas. Other than his dumbbell arms and soft headsculpt, he was pretty fine. Good luck finding one with all his legs on the secondary market, though.
