okay I researched a lot of transformers and searched if anyone was undying. Such as starscream. He has a nigh-unkillable spark or bumblebee. Does anyone else no of some? Any help would be nice. Only undying by spark not by age.

Age of Extinction Galvatron has no Spark; Megatron's mind in his decapitated head continued to stay active even without a Spark! He even has a "Vortex Grinder" in his chest where most Transformers have their Sparks! Consequently, I can see him being immortal, relatively speaking.

Shouldn’t Rodimus Cron be immortal thanks to his rapid healing, strength and armor?

Technically, all Transformers are immortal, so long as their life-giving sparks are constantly maintained. They don't naturally extinguish after a period of time. Transformers can still "die" from age/lack of maintenance, or from being killed/sustaining severe enough damage that the body can no longer support the spark.

Starscream's spark seemingly cannot be destroyed, so he is not only immortal, but unkillable. Rampage was a failed attempt at replicating that; his spark was naturally very strong, but he could still be destroyed, and his spark extinguished.

Personally, I don't like them being immortal. I never liked the 4 million year long war. Hot Rod and Blurr are supposed to be young but they're over 4 million year old?

They should change the life span to a few thousand years. IDW did at the start.

Even worse in Cyberverse where they're all over 65 million years old to accommodate Grimlock having a T-Rex mode.

One or two like Starscream and Rampage having immortal sparks is interesting but having them all immortal gets too far fetched.

I've never been fond of the 4-million-year-long war, either. It's just a little TOO long, and makes the difference between "younger" and "older" characters way too nebulous.

I dig the potential for an indefinite lifespan. Machines should all be fixable...within reason.

Bumblebee isn't really immortal... not by those standards anyway. He can die, Hasbro just won't let him. :p

You seem to be placing human standards on beings with a much longer life span. Like that baby "Yoda" is 50 years old which is still young for his species. So there's nothing wrong with Bumblebee being young AND over 4 million years old.

Also... Hot Rod and Blurr weren't introduced till the movie and we don't know anything about their origins. The 4 million year thing comes from the pilot which neither of them were in. We don't know that either of them actually existed at that time, they could very well have only been brought online some time between the end of season 2 and the movie for all we know. You're assuming they already existed on Cybertron before the Ark crashed on Earth with is possible but we don't actually know they're over 4 million years old since we don't know they existed before the movie.

Now here we do know that Hot Rod and Blurr existed before Earth because we've seen both of them in pre-Earth flash backs so here yes they are young and over 65 million years old... but again... life span.

Think about it like this... a fly only has a 24 hour life span. To them the concept of a person living for 15 years and still being young is just as crazy.

Young is a matter of perspective, not a set number.

They're not all immortal though. As far as I know only Starscream and Rampage are.

Immortal in Transformers means having an indestructible spark that can live on forever without a body.

No Transformer can age to death but they can be killed and return to the AllSpark. Immortal Sparks can not be killed.

Though that being said... Rampage was "Killed" and never came back despite supposedly having an immortal spark.

And Beast Machines Megatron was shown to have a unique red spark that seemed incapable of dying as it just bounced from one body to the next possessing them like Starscream did.

Beast Machines Megatron only unlocked that potential in his spark after studying The Oracle and assimilating stolen sparks. Then the Maximals all had special sparks from the Technorganic Upgrade. So I feel like the story does a lot to explain why these sparks don't follow the pre established rules.

If you’re talking G1 cartoon, it was over 9 million years

I didn't accept that poorly written show for my personal canon even as a child. Marvel UK comic was much better written though they did use the 4 million year notion.

9 million, 4 million, 1 million? They're all ridiculously long. Transformers shouldn't live more than a few thousand years.

Better written maybe put the comic books had a tendency to contradict themselves when it came to the timeline/history of the war

Even in the comics the 4 million years was the time that they were left inactive on earth after the Ark crashed. But how long was the war before that?

The first issue tells us it went on for at least 1000 years, But subsequent stories at least imply it may have been longer.

And then there’s the Keeper......That seems to be the oldest of them all

There really wasn’t much from the marvel comics that Suggest they had a shorter lifespan then the cartoon counterparts

Why? They're ROBOTS... It makes sense that they can survive a ridiculously long time cause they're made of METAL which can basically last forever. They're also made of some fictional type of metal that doesn't actually exist which seems to have some special properties. I mean if they only lived a few thousand years as you suggest I'd assume they were made of copper or something that could easily rust over time.

I know the Marvel comics gave them lifespans of millions of years, it was one aspect of the comics I didn't like.

I still don't like the idea. Especially given the war lasts millions of years. If their weapons are so advanced and destructive, it doesn't seem reasonable that the war would have gone on so long.

Plus millions of years lifespans takes away from any of their myths when the Transformers are so old themselves.

Millions of years of war basically makes them immortal to age but not spark.....

So... if a Transformer can die of old age, how many years can a Transformer live?

In some media Transformers are said to live atleast over 9 million (judging by a line in the G1 cartoon.)
