Yeah, thanks. Looks like the cardboard heads sit on the driver's seats and don't need to be glued or taped. Easy decision as to whether or not you want the look.

I bet these have the good springs for the missiles too. SO glad I ditched my originals.

These toys are as ridiculous today as they were twenty plus years ago.

But I love 'em. Still, gonna go with Reprolabels stickers for the heads. Keep 'em on there for good and avoid cutting up the box.

I love Ironhide and Ratchet. Ratchet especially. But I think I have to pass on this because I already have the reissues from 2001.

You don't have to cut the box. The heads just punch out. They are perforated.

Funny how the Ratchet boxart has the cross on the roof, but not in his hand like the original variation.

What do you mean in his hand?

I have just compared my original 80s Ratchet box with this one and am shocked that I missed the red cross difference, but I don't understand what you mean by in his hand... could you help me out?

Here is my old box for reference.

Hideous! Not worth the price they're asking for.

Wait for Classics/Universe version if they ever come.

I've been really looking forward to these little guys. As squirrelcar said, sure, they're fairly ridiculous-looking. But I love them too.

I also have a very strong nostalgic relationship with them, as Ironhide was one of my first, if not my first, Transformer toys as a kid. Ratchet followed not long after. Maybe that's why I'm especially forgiving of them. And you know, I have to say, even though as a kid their lack of real heads puzzled me, I still found that with the battle platform they had lots of fun playability. For goodness' sake, they have tank treads! So cool!

I'll be leaving the cardboard heads off, though... classic freaky seat-faces all the way. :)

I might have to pick these guys up. I had an Ironhide back in the day and was sad when I lost 'im.

Same here - although I never actually had either of them as a kid, my good friend Erik did and I was ALWAYS envious of him. I had my fair share of TFs, but always missed out on these - now as an adult I am glad to finally have them in my collection (as soon as my preorder arrives!).

I'm a fan of these characters, and the toys are pure classic transforming toy cheese... Ratchet not having the painted on cross kinda stinks tho... When I get these two characters I'll probably just go vintage...

They aren't the best of the original toys, but I did love my Ratchet back in '84, so I'm pleased that I've got a chance to own him again. I'll probably keep them in the boxes for the most part - can't wait to see what comes after Jazz and Sky Lynx...

:)  :)  From those pics, I don't see the autobot rub sign on Ironhide like in Ratchet. Does he come with one?
