When I first heard about this year's Botcon set, I was extremely put-off, but having seen all of the prototypes and virtually all of the show exclusives, I think this year's set is actually pretty bitchin'.

At the show this year we're getting:

--Leozack, Thunderclash, and Skyquake, first-time ever as toys in the US and the jets look really awesome.

--Banzaitron, fan-favorite entrepreneurial ninja for the first-time ever transformable, as far as I know.

--Razorclaw, our first large-sized really cool version since G1.

--Flak and Landshark, brand-new characters who actually have great decos and are the best versions of those molds ever by far.

--Kup and Scourge, who probably wouldn't get new Classics versions by Hasbro for years if ever.

--And at least one other figure we don't know yet, presumably a Sweep, which would be the first-time EVER that we'd have a Sweep toy. Seriously.

Kup is definitely the weakest link of this set, but I'm really, REALLY starting to warm up to these guys and I can't wait to have my very own Leozack and Banzaitron to hold and transform and love!

Is anyone else starting to come around on this year's set?

Fortunately, no. Still look whack to me. But that'll save my wallet from turning to dust.

no, i was really hoping for some classics or animated repaints instead of these guys. the packaging is the BEST i've seen so far for any botcon sets though

I kinda wish I had the money to buy them, because I really like the look of Landshark and Flak for some reason...

I'm sorry, but there is nothing in this world that could ever make the Leobreaker mold "cool." Much like there's really nothing that can make this year's Botcon exclusives anything other than dull and random.

I don't think the set is that great, but I don't "hate" it either...it's just not for me. The only Botcon sets I thought have been worth the money are 2006 and 2007.

I think your poll options are a little limited. Where's "I always liked them" and "Not bothered one way or another" for a start?

I dig em. A lot actually. Kup, Scourge and Razorclaw are gonna look great on my classics shelves. The only one I'm kind meh about is Landshark. I just hope they're not gonna be ridiculously expensive in the aftermarket

I've come around on them, and am looking forward to the set. Razorclaw, Flak, and Scourge look terrific in my opinion. Thunderclash, the Seekers, Banzai-tron, and Kup are all decent. The only one I still really don't care for is Landshark; I find his color scheme boring, his name ridiculous, and it irks me that such a great, versatile mold was squandered on a no-name filler-bot.

I actually like the idea behind the set just fine... Kup telling a story about the beginning of the war is actually a pretty good idea for a theme. I just wish there had been a few things done differently in execution (for instance, using the Dirt Boss mold or another more fitting mold for Kup, and making Landshark a G1 Sentinel Prime or even pre-Prime Sentinel Minor).

Overall I think the last three sets were still superior, but I will not regret owning this one as well.

I like some of the attendee exclusives (Leozack, Razorclaw, Bonzaitron), but the rest are still crap.

Still think Kup should have been a different mold.

The bad guys are a lot better, but that's been the case for nearly all Botcon toys for years now.

I like them and cant wait to get them in less than two weeks. And Optimus Sledge do you ever have anything positive to say about transformers or atleast on these boards cause every thread i see you in your so negative and have nonthing good to say about anything? Is all you like to do is argue over the internet? And i know your going to open up your witty comments on me and thats fine but i was just wondering why your so bitter all the time? Guess i would have to be in your circle of friends on these boards to understand you.

    Optimus Sledge isn't bitter.

He's just on a much higher plane of enlightenment than you.

    As for the toys?
Something cool about the Thunderclash/Landshark/Flak trio. Just the idea of that unit. And the SS redecoes are cool. Everything else is bleugh. Especially the mold choice for Banzaitron. How can you be a ninja with that much back kibble?!
