I never understood Mainframe's referencing here. If you've ever been to a museum with a T-Rex display, you'd realize that Beast Megatron should stand relatively toe-to-toe with a robot that transforms into a Peterbilt.

BW characters' beast modes were scaled to their robot modes, not the other way around. So that's why Megs is so small compared to G1 Optimus.

Except Megatron pretty clearly wasn't the same size as a fully grown T-rex, that would have made the scaling between him and Primal pretty ludicrous

It was a deliberate choice to make the G1 guys look larger than life, make them look like legendary titans like they're made out to be

That also means Megatron transforms into a five-foot T-Rex...which is also pretty ludicrous.

Well I mean, that was a given, seeing how we saw him next to the G1 Bots and Cons and saw him standing next to prehistoric humans as well.

Which is why I'll never understand the frame of reference.

Beast wars employs considerably less mass shifting than G1, in general Cheetor, Rhinox, Tigatron and Optimus Primal seem to be the frame of reference for scale since they all seem to be roughly the size of the animals they turn into (Tigatron and Cheetor explicitly shown as such). All of the other characters are scaled around them

Which is particularly ludicrous when you consider Rattrap turns into a rat the size of a small cow.

Robotmasters is an interesting addendum to G1 and Beast Wars, successfully tying at least the TOEIverse to Beast Wars effectively. So, did Convoy shrink? Or did Megatron grow? And why wasn't Megatron in his Transmetal form during Robotmasters considering the story revolves around the time disruption created by killing Convoy?

Cybertronian society went through an evolution called "the great upgrade" in the Beast Wars cartoon continuity during which everyone was rebuilt into a smaller body for the sake of fuel-efficiency.

it was the maximal upgrade/great upgrade, not the great downgrade

I'm less interested in an alternate Cyclonus, but would gladly take a Selects Ferak ala the Botcon figure, or even "His Armada" and/or that infamous Dirgeclonus (either as Armada or someone else).

Maybe a good compromise is drop a toy accurate Cyclonus and refer to it as the Armada?

Part of me wonders how easy it would be to say that Beast Wars Megatron's T-Rex Mode is actually a Juvenile T-Rex.

Almost makes me want to buy that legends scaled Menasor.
Could you drop a link to the video, please?
    I'd love to see it.

Beast Wars never attempted beast mode scale outside of the cats specifically to avoid things like that. Megatron being Optimus Prime sized and Primal being barely above human sized wouldn't have worked at all. I think it's pretty obvious why they did not make them accurate in size to the real deals.

That's an odd comparison. I guess technically yes, newborn calves can be as small as Rattrap is next to Cheetor in alt mode, but he's more like a rat the size of a large dog. Cheetahs are much smaller than cows already
