Nah, if it was a custom it would be marked as such, and wouldn’t be the normal retail they charge for figures.

At this point, earth mode sideswipe will just be the siege version with more shiny colors and no battle damage.

 

I mean to be honest, a good chunk of the Earthrise figures of Siege characters are just re-tolls of their Siege molds. Namely the Ironhide and Smokescreen molds.
For me though still, the BIG selling point is having an Earth mode Sideswipe, and a good Sideswipe figure with better articulation, without all the unneeded pretend damage paint.
What I'm wondering though is, if he is INDEED exclusive, will he be an officially licensed Lamborghini? I know Bumblebee managed to get the official license from VW, and most car companies want to have their cars be the good guys. Knowing how Sideswipe likes to go fast, look sleek, and so his work effectively, I feel they might consider doing it.

First, the smokescreen mold for earthrise is completely different from the siege one.

Second, it's ferrari so I doubt it. Just look at the recent studio series dino.

It's Lamborghini for Sideswipe. They've been a little more lax with their license than Ferrari. I believe TLK Hot Rod was licensed, and know for a fact both of the brothers had licensed MP alt modes, so they've already established a relationship with Hasbro on this brand like VW did with the Beetle and Bumblebee

 

Oh yeah. I used to be into cars thanks to my uncle but now I confuse car companies. Sorry. Also, I doubt they would make sideswipe a licensed Lamborguini since he would need to match up with earthrise sunstreaker who isn't licensed.

 

Oh I doubt they would as well, just wanted to clarify that it wouldn't be impossible should they go that route

 

Until we see the back side, it can't be called. Earth Mode could be a Roof/Cab remould alone, current Hasbro form of late indicates they aren't above putting the same figure with minimal differences out in quick succession!

 

Seeing as Sunstreaker wasn't licensed it'd be pretty odd if Sideswipe was since they're supposed to turn into essentially the same car.

 

We can't see his back, and if my theory is correct than the only difference between Earth Sideswipe and Siege is that he'll have a new roof/back and that's it. So it's possible this is still the Earth mode recolor, granted as long as my (admittedly quite cynical) theory is indeed correct.

Still really like him. Didn't expect the badge on the hood and the silver rifle is a nice addition. Now please give us Clampdown Hasbro, He's the only one we still need! Deep Cover's gonna need his brother after all.

 

I don't see why they'd do so little given how much work the vanettes and the datsuns had put into them.

 

Watch Earth mode Sideswipe not being a retool at all and only do its roof via paint.  

 

They bought up a bunch of Siege Sideswipes with the Toyhax roof stickers applied and sold them back for twice the price

Even if it isn't the earth mode, it does look like it's trying to go for an earth car deco (If the car logo there is anything to go by.) Maybe that's what scources meant when they said earth-mode? In any case it does look good
