    Whelp, here we go again...

    Just an example. =p

Excluding the Micro/Battlemasters, most of the characters from the WFCT were in Prime Wars.

Where did you get the info about Bayformer Devvy? Not that it matters, Combiner Wars was popular enough for combiners to be viable in the future.

And the Headmasters in the WFCT being viewed as "the remaining ones" has nothing to do with the possibility of new ones coming out, especially since the TR Headmasters aren't cartoon accurate.

I'm gonna keep my part in this discussion very simple: I would really love it if Hasbro was to produce more cartoon accurate toys (toy accurate when it comes to the Combaticons, the Constructicons and the Technobots) of the combiners an Headmasters we bought during Prime Wars.

Modern tanks, like G2 Megatron's M1 Abrams mode, are actually quite fast- 45mph is its top speed. I'd say tank modes fit him well enough.

Does anyone have a list of all the leaks? I've missed about 50 pages.

I think they can find a way to make it work. Kinda a missed opportunity to say that "Snowcat managed to obtain the alt mode after raiding a Sigma 6 Base".

I question this myself. Movie Devs got released twice, once drip-fed and another as a giftset. How bad could it have really done, and how much of that is him being a combiner giftset and not just people like me who didn't want to buy the fucking thing twice?

Between two releases of Movie Devs, that CW Devastator reissue, and Combiner Wars being a runaway success, I really cock an eyebrow at the idea that one under-performing Combiner tanks prospects for an entirely different one.

The WFCT characters that were in prime wars
Wernt characters who fit the gimmicks, like the combining(stunticons, terrorcons, technobots, etc.) , or headmasters(highbrow, chromedome, etc.), those are the ones im saying wont get new figures as hasbro considers them good enough.

And combiner wars wasnt as popular as you think, the line got old quick with the same few molds used dozens of times. And alot of those figures ended up at discount stores way more than is normal.

The TR headmasters are getting cartoon accurate repaints so no, they arent going to get new molds anytime soon.

It did so badly they reissued the whole damn thing as a giant box set.

Yeah everything I've seen is Combiners were immensely popular. Which is why they were brought back for PotP and integrated in to RiD.

You don't revive an unpopular line.

The second release of movie devy just seems like hasbro trying to get as much as they could from a bad mold. And the CW devy reissue isnt a sign of success for combiners, its actually the opposite because when ss86 devy did get canceled the just played safe and reissued there already existing mold to go along with ss86 toys. And CW wasnt that big of a success, it was a very boring line with the same dozen molds, and half of the line wound up being severely discounted

How can we even say Studio Series Devastator underperformed? All of the waves featuring the individual Constructicons sold through, and the gift set just went on sale recently. It's safe to say the majority who bought the standalone figures were not in the market for the gift set anyway. Plus, it was a completely different way of releasing a combiner than had been attempted before.

Considering everything CW Devastator did right, I don't think "slightly better scale" is enough of a reason to make a brand new set of figures just a few years later, and SS86 seems to be focusing on the movie-original cast anyway (Jazz being the exception, which seems like a happy coincidence).

Who said there even was a SS86 Devastator? I thought they never planned that anyway

And how good is that box set gonna sell? Its a box set full of already released figures, which costs $260 a hundred more than titans who sold so bad they are getting canceled and the titans didnt even have previous releases.

It was planned but was shelved early on

Probably because they already have a "Studio Series" Devastator, and don't want people to get confused as to which is which.

All of this is highly subjective if not outright inaccurate. SS Devastator isn't a bad mould at all, and your logic on the CW reissue is circular to the point: if combiners weren't a success, they wouldn't feel compelled to reissue it. Nothing else has gotten a reissue like that. As for CW itself, yeah, it was very successful, so successful it was brought back as the main gimmick again in POTP.

If Combiners weren't a success we wouldn't have had two years devoted to them, plus five domestic giftsets (three CW Devastators counting the recent reissue, Predaking, and SS Devs) and a whole movie combiner drip-fed over two years.

Not to mention the budget problems that would arise from trying to design scaled robot modes when the CW's combined mode is so perfectly scaled to Siege figures they showed it off in those behind the scenes shots of the Omega prototype, and they were Voyager-sized.

I just dont understand why there needs to be an ss86 devastator. CW devastator was pretty good. I dont know why HasTak would spend time/money/space-in-a-line to make a whole new devastator. Finacially it makes no sense to me. This is just my opinion though.

That's a better excuse to me than "Combiners don't sell." While the individual robots are varied in terms of accuracy, CW Devastator is already basically WFC styled, and it could've been seen as redundant to do such a large and expensive figure over again when there's a "good enough" version from a few year ago.

Because again, if Combiners didn't sell, they wouldn't still be selling them.
