I apologize for the amount of words I typed in. My novel is going to be my own take on the Transformers bayverse movies. I want to start from scratch, with the same Transformers from the movies, but with different human characters with actual depth and development just like the Transformers, different setting, and different feel that is going to be different tone from the movies. It's going to be a neo-noir, science fiction, dark comedy, psychological thriller novel with some action(three Transformer fights and two strong bloody violent human shootouts. Most of the book will be dialouge heavy. The action would be small scale, so I don't want giant explosions ou of nowhere. Just short and sweet.) told in first person by my main character Naoki Yamanaka, an apethetic, calm, yet manipulitive, decitful, and kind of homocidal 1st year sixteen year old male student and "Sweeper", an operative in the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department who are both assassins and detectives as, they can either assist the police in investgating a string of strange, yet incredibly gory deaths and suicides that occured in Shibuya after a suicide bombing happened by a man who was forced by an unknown assassin nicknamed "Shiki", to go out outside, find another man an fight him. When Sweepers are about to attempt an assassination, the department sends an email of the suspect they are hired to "Clean"(kill). Sweepers are the most highly paid in the police department, but are also the most hated, due to the fact that they allow people at age sixteen tto enter and their ruthlessness and beliefs in "no second chances to those that spawn evil to others and when caught, beg for mercy." Naoki moved from Kyoto to Shibuya after his parents found new work there as black ops agents. They taught him how to defend himself at age eight, and taught him how to use firearms at age thirteen. His parents were about to kill him, sinc they found out who he really was.(Spolier) Naoki noticed this when he woke up and heard the words of the plot from his parents room and a gun slide. He kills both of them by filling his clothes underneath his sheets of his bed and hid in the closet after his father had fired rounds on the. bed and noticed that there was no blood leaking out of the bed. Naoki shot his mother in the head, and disarmed his father gun in his by blasting both his index and middle fingers off before he shot him in the head. The next day after the incident, on his way to buy new shoes after school in a rainy afternoon , Barricade followed him, till Naoki got away from him by getting a bus and stopped at the Meiji Shrine and into a forest. Barricade finds him in the woods and threatened to kill him by pointing a gun in front of his face, and he noticed something odd about Naoki. He didn't flinch or freakout as he assumed he would do, but all he did was stare at him with a bored expression. Barricade was then attacked by Sideswipe and defeated him. He then saw Naoki's stare before it turned a psycho laugh before he passed out. He then was later greeted by the Autobots they took him to their headquarters, which was an abandoned textile factory turned facilty with often strange visuals that occured in the walls. He then was informed by Optimus Prime about their past and how did they came here. Optimus later informed Naoki that they're not only fighting the Decepticons, but also are investagting th strange deaths and to find out the truth about them. The next day, on his way to a convienent store to buy food, he was kidnapped by Soundwave, who was surpisingly nice to him even though he kidnapped where the Decepticons are located and where he meets Megatron. Naoki lied to Megatron whenhe was asked if he had seen or know anything about the Autobots. Megatron believes and so they let him off and didn't kill him. Naoki is now going to lie in order to know who is right and who is wrong. I want my novel to tackle themes like corruption, greed, obsession, deception, guilt, and the inconsistant nature to humanity. N.E.S.T. would be just a school organization invented by Naoki's childhood friend, Izumi Kimura, who was also a Kyoto natives, but moved to Shibuya earlier than Naoki during teir first year in middle school. She would be described as by Naoki himself as "a bull who keeps it's violent rage locked up in a cage unless someone breaks the lock off with a sledgehammer, with stupidity stuck in their mind, with an unpleasant wish. And possibly a deathwish." The Izumi agrees to the Autobots to assist them in the strange deaths that occured. It sounds crazy, but I'm always a person who strieves for new experiences. I've written darkly comedic short stories for my local newspaper company and I got praise from them. My main inspirations for this novel are shows, movies from directors like the Coen Brothers and Christopher Nolan. There is going to a lot of strong profanity, and strong bloody violence and gore throughtout the novel. The tone would be sutle, calm, and kind of eerie. It's more about dialouge, character development, and story than action, but I want the action to be short yet end with satisfaction. I want to make this Transformers novel because of my love in literature and film, espiecally ones that express art to it's finest. I don't want to sell toys, I want to tell a vision of my own. I want to create art. It would also be told in a non linear fashion. The characters would be morally grey, that includes the Autobots and the Decepticons as the black and white plot has been told before in other entries in the franchise. I just want to try something different. Autobots include: Optimus Prime(AOE Design), Bumblebee(1967 AOE Design), Sideswipe, Mirage, Ironhide, Ratchet, Arcee, and Drift(AOE Prototype Design, not the Samurai looking design) Decepticons include: Megatron, Lockdown, Starscream, Blackout, Barricade, Bonecrusher, Shockwave, Soundwave, the Dreads, and Fracture. I also wish to work with an anime style artist for my novel like Takeshi Takeuchi(Fate/Stay Night, Tsukihime, Kara No Kyoukai) when I give my manuscript to an editor of any book publishing company like Simon and Schuster, HarperCollins, Random House, Macmillan, The Penguin Group, or Hachette. interesting. i just hope the novel won't have as many grammatical and spelling errors lol. also.. it seems a little bit dark just for the sake of being dark. that's just my opinion though. good luck.
Not...entirely sure Hasbro and/or Bay would be okay with this. It has an interesting premise, but an actual book? I dunno.
Might as well give it a shot. If my novel would ever get a film adaptation(which is 1 out of 10 chance it will) Bay would not be good director for it as he makes movie for entertainment. If there is director that could do it, it's Christopher Nolan. Or Martin Scorsese.
