Due to Autovolt127's recent revelation, I feel compelled to do this, and I hope I don't regret it.

I'm Autistic, I see the world differently. Though recently it's been downgraded to Aspergers.

Thanks to years of therapy, I'm able to properly socialize. And recently I graduated from high school. But I'm unsure of what I'm going to do with my life.

I'm proud of who I am.

My son has severe Autism , speaking is not there , constant supervision , can't chew his food everything needs to be blendered. He has the mind of a 4 year old but he's 18.

Be happy with the things you can do by yourself , socialize , talk , go out , drive , get a job and so on.

    I have Aspergers as well.

I'm glad that my revealing my OCD made you comfortable to reveal your austism/aspergers. I will say one thing it's kind of freaky just how simaliar we both are actually.

Actually I thought it was the opposite. What with Aspergers being upgraded to Autism.

Well, at any rate, I'm glad you feel compelled to open up. :)

Well, I am not autistic, so all the advice I can offer is how I run my life, but I would think it'd apply to you as well. My advice is simple, yet can be so hard for some:
Work hard every day, it's your best chance for success.
    Do your best every day.
    Be your best every day.
    Learn something new every day.
Explore the beauty of nature whenever possible.

I hope this helps. I do wish you the best.

I'm assuming your condition has been diagnosed by a professional?

As for what you're going to do with your life, you've got plenty of time to figure that out at your age, but I'm of the mind there's no such thing as worthless education.

But what is the process of diagnosis? Is it via blood tests or other means?

Visual and word tests, that's all I remember, I'm low on the spectrum.

I see - thanks. I've never known how doctors determine all of this.

I believe Snoop Dogg says it best with "for those who don't like it, eat a dick". Just like, live your life.
