Sorry for the confusion. Here's the story: My wife and I have been looking at houses. Today we went back and got a second look at a house we both liked, sat down, talked about it, and decided to go ahead and put an offer on it. And it was only then that the Realtor let us know that we'd need to write a check for $1000 in earnest money as part of the actual process. This house has had a lot of people looking at it today and lot of interest, and we knew we'd have to move fast to not lose out on it, so I immediately made the wrenching decision to put all of my Botcon exclusives from 06 and 07 up for sale, so we could still get the offer done quickly. We've got the money in investments and such, but not in places we could get to quick enough to move on this house. House being more important than toys, up they went. And of course, no sooner had I gotten them listed than my parents call to tell me that they're going to wire us the money so we don't miss out on the house, thus rescuing the figures from having to be sold. I'm sorry if I ended up being something of a cocktease, I really wasn't expecting my parents to jump in on that. So again, my apologies. In lighter news, we did in fact fill out all the paperwork, write the check and make an offer on the house, and not 10 minutes after we got home got a call from the Realtor to let us know the seller accepted our offer and all of our terms, so barring any glitches in the closing process, I'm a homeowner!!!
Well, there are still lots of things that can crop up during the closing process, so if it gets to the point of me actually having to sell them anyway, you get first dibs on the figures you wanted, at the price you wanted.
Also, thanks to everyone for the congrats! We're both crazy excited and a little nervous, since this is the first house for both of us.
congrats. Owning a house is a good feeling....But furnishing it is a different story!!!I'll trade you my couch for a botcon megatron!
watch out for lawyers fees! and hidden costs such as landtaxs, our people who were handeling our stuff failed to mention these things until the day before we had to move in and if the papers wernt in order we were in big trouble
Congrats dude!! It's an awesome step (wifey and I bought ours two-and-a-half years ago. It's awesome. A whole new ball game of problems are about to begin in your life (ahhh the joys of home-ownership) but it's so worth it. I'm super-excited for you guys!
