I agree that there is alot that was wrong with the film.. but to dissect the film to that degree is stupid. I just need to stay away from them. I was totally disappointed with devastator's scene too.. just not enough substance there to have a role.

you make my point exactly.. "there is plenty to love as well but we have to remember the movie is just for fun and nothing more"

I need to let that shit slide. I guess that I am in a pot stirring mood lately with all the stress of our contract and job security issues.

how have you been man? has anyone talked about another meet up?

    wow.. holy fuckin shit!

that has been my whole bitch with all of the movie sucked threads... no humans needed blah blah blah. Exactly.. they had a certain expectation of what it was going to be and when it wasn't.. they were pissed.. or even more so.. hurt.

I'm not even looking for Jetfire. All I was saying is that buying up every figure a store has for the sole purpose of keeping it out of the hands of scalpers isn't helping anyone but people who frequent this particular forum.

Suppose theres some lady looking for one for her kid for his birthday but can't find it locally because someone bought them all up to make sure scalpers didn't? The end result is still the same...her kid deosn't get one.

If they're all spoken for, thats one thing...but the post I was responding to indicated that they were bought up with the intent to keep them out of the hands of scalpers and in the hands of the forum members here.

You guys all act like I'm some lurker, and you can read my post history http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/search.php?searchid=1046415&pp=10 and see that I never ask anyone to hook me up and post my findings every time I visit a store, so stop being nasty in your responses. I'm not trying to be anyone's enemy, I'm just stating a differing viewpoint that I think wouldn't hurt anyone to consider.

Not trying to be nasty at all. I bought a total of 6 jetfires, all of them I knew would be spoken for, as people have asked me to hook them up if I'd seen it and I did the same likewise. If there is a figure you want, and I can grab it for you I will. As for the mom shopping for her kid...... What we do here is no different. We all have our wish lists just like the little kid, and we make it public, like the little kid would to mommy or daddy, and one of us go and gets it for another member just like mommy or daddy would. Only difference is we are just a little older physically and maybe mentally. (sorry soundwave, somebody has to do it in gonzo's abscence :dunce ).

I totally agree with that. He is just helping people out on the boards. Knowing Jetfire will be hard to find. He is just helping people to get the figure.

No one said that they weren't all spoken for? so what is the problem? if you don't know the whole story then you don't have anything to say. sounds like you are bitter about something.

For the last time, I'm not bitter. I was responding to this particular line:

"most of usually buy all these so scalpers dont get them and we hook all the locals up."

Why should a person have to search out a member of a forum to find a figure they want instead of being able to snag it on the shelves? That's all I'm saying. If these were bought up for specific people, thats fine. But the post stated they are bought to keep them out of the hands of scalpers, and would be given to locals if they asked the right people. That's the part I questioned.

In other news: Nothing new at Fox Valley TRU when I checked it out this afternoon, shelves were actually pretty sparse. I'm hoping this means a restock of the newest figs is coming soon, as that has been my experience the last couple weeks I've been checking that store.

that isn't what was said.. it said nothing about asking the right people

    here are the exact words..

"talk to bhiga or daphadre, they were the ones that hooked us up, they may have some still. most of usually buy all these so scalpers dont get them and we hook all the locals up. im sure if u paid shipping they would send your way or something"

    back pedaling

    Shane you crack me up...

Just finished the Decepticon campaign on 360 and now both are done. They are fun but they just cant capture my attention for more than just 1 play through.

Much better than the first though.

Actually, he's kind of right. To someone that isn't in this clique that you guys have, what's the difference between what you guys are doing and a scalper? Either way, the outside person can't find the figure at the store because someone bought up all of the figures. I understand that you guys are helping each other out, but I feel like it's getting a little crazy with you guys buying up all of the new figures you guys see instead of leaving them at a store for people to find.

I see it as buying something for a friend. Like others have mentioned, the people who picked up the figures were asked to help pick them up since it may be more convenient. If a friend was to tell me to pick up something for him/her if I'm going to a store I would since I'm going there anyways. Any extra figures would have gone to other forum members too. Scalpers on the other hand like to buy what's hot/new for their own personal gain

I could see both sides of the discussion though. It may seem like its keeping figures away from others, but since this is a sightings thread, if the person wants the figure they would go to the store and buy it anyways, so the figure would be gone either way. This way though a person who may be too busy to go or some other reason can still get the figure. With the sightings thread its used to help other people get figures, and helping someone pick up a figure is just another helpful thing.

I myself pay attention to who lives near me and what they're looking for usually, although unless they have it in their signature, its hard to tell if someone got it already...
