Acid storm is still up and in stock

 

I'm not sure if this is already known, but my friend just found Acid Storm in-store (Vernon Hills). Soundwave was placed on-shelf earlier this week and sold out.

i refuse to believe soundwave was out and gone already. this whole situation with these has been BS from the get go so forgive me if I find anything of a sighting hard to believe.

 

False alarm. They brought her to the CSR desk to place an order. They're offering the shelf price with free shipping to the store. 0 stores in the area (NW, W) have the toys according to "the system".

Again, my apologies for the false alarm. While I'm at work, I asked a non-collector to run to TRU, that's how the "found Acid Storm" and "Soundwave is sold out" messages were misconstrued.

 

Just at Fox Valley TRU. They have neither SW nor AC yet. I was walking out through RZone, and an employee was telling another Employee that "people keep calling in for this Soundwave Transformer... Just let them know we dont have any yet , but it is on order".

 

SW is online, but can't be able to add it to the shopping cart. why can't i add that shit to my cart????!

well, i guess it was out within seconds. sigh...

technical reason ...
The database is reading "0" units.
The web service to make the product out-of-stock online isn't instant. It combs all products every 15 minutes or so.

to the user ...
The product looks orderable, but there's actually nothing to buy.

Nothing at the Chicago Western TRU, according to the lady on the phone.

 

I checked toys r us computer and no one got them

 

Frenzy Rumble posted their reply straight from TRU saying only a very limited number of Soundwaves were available at this time to go along with SDCC and that the main shipments were due to be online and in stores at the end of August. So until something new happens, I wouldn't hit the ground just yet for them.

That is a terrible way to set up a e-commerce system. Every 15 minutes....

 

It's antiquated for sure. The system setup doesn't lend towards flash sales.

Amazon is instant because they have the dollars to make whatever they want. Toys R Us isn't instant because they don't have the dollars to fund the infrastructure required.

 

FWIW, I'll check out the Downers Grove Butterfield Rd TRU after about 6 tonight.

I'm also on the hunt. The annoying, frustrating hunt.

 

Since 10 a.m. I've checked the TRU's on 75th, Butterfield, in Joliet and in Aurora. Nothing. I talked to one of the managers and he told me that in the Chicago land area 1,400 have been ordered though no one know's how many will go to each store. And he doesn't know when they will arrive in the stores, only that the warehouses are saying they aren't in yet.

 

Just got shipping notice for soundwave woohoo. Pays to be getting up for work at 4:30!
