He sounded so mad about everything I was hoping for lol. Bring on the longer TF movie. I'll love every second of it.
Yeah, this review might've been more informative except for that bit about it being "way too long" while the first movie was the "perfect length" that just threw away pretty much all his credibility. ROTF is five minutes longer, folks. Five minutes.
I like the sound of a longer-running TF movie; the first one didn't establish the characters well enough. And it appears that the forest scene is going to be phenomenal.
Yay, I'm a sucker for long movies, can't wait for this. I like clearer battle scenes, and more emotion.
It doesn't throw away his credibility. It's how the film uses that two hours that makes it too long or not. It's not just comparing the numbers. Although I think the first movie is too long, too.
Exactly. If it starts to drag, if it has scenes that are irrelevant to the story, if the mind starts to wander, then it's too long. I've seen 5 minute shorts that were too long.
IGN reviews aren't worth the space they take up on a server, there has been plenty of movies and games were they say are average or poor that are awesome. I take all reviews with a huge spoonful of salt because they hire ******s on that site
Yep. If you read it, the length complaint is largely that after the middle or so it just drags on and even the climax isn't as satisfying as an earlier scene.
Transformers wouldn't be as good if it wasn't as long as it is. ROTF will be amazing. The fact that its longer means more epic
Next week can't come soon enough for me!!! Anyway, whatelse can we expect about a TF movie other than giant robots fightin each other?! XD
Honestly, (especially the UK reviews), IGN reviews usually don't hold water. They rated Star Trek and Crank High Volatge with the same 3.5 rating. Gave Wolverine, the horrid trash that it was, a 3. And every UK review complains about length of the movie... the best action is in the first ten minutes, after and hour this and that etc... it's like they expect an action movie to be action, drama, comedy... If you see an action movie and complain about it relying on action to move the film, there's a problem. That said, the review is weakened by the fact that it has the same rating as WOlverine, which is impossible. And Star Trek being rated only half a star higher than Wolverine is an epic failure.
That review was too long; it could have easily been cut down to one page, instead of repeatedly complaining about the film's length. Anyway, reading past the repeated length-related whining, it sounds like RotF is going to be pretty good. The good stuff in the first one is carried over and Bay's taken steps to fix some of the problems (shaky cam, unclear fight scenes, not enough TF action, etc). It will no doubt have some flaws, but sounds like it'll be a fun ride like the first one.
