    Lots of science fiction movies take liberties with established history, and retconned it to fit their storylines. Transformers isn't the first to do so, and won't be the last either.

    Expected it to be pretty mocking, but it seemed pretty clean cut and next to no embellishing at all.

    This. It was a pretty neat, legit article just detailing how the movies fit in with our history.

    The opening blurb seemed pretty much like an apology for writing the article in the first place, since apparently the Transformers franchise is too god-awful to take seriously or analyze. :lol
