Okay, so many of you have seen the pics of the box art already, but in case some of you haven't, here you go:

Once opened, you can see that the plastic insert, layout and everything almost exactly resemble the official MP Seekers. Even down to the instruction manual, collector card, stickers, etc. BUT WAIT!!!! It's not an instruction manual, it's a mini-comic and featured on the very last page is the first look at...we'll get to that later. :D

Here is jet mode. When you first handle it, it "feels" like an official MP Seeker. Same weight, sturdiness, etc. So far, it doesn't feel cheap.

The rear wings fold up, then you slide the legs out just like normal, same transformation, etc. Since these don't have the hip kibble, the transformation is altered slightly. Once you have the feet in place, just slide the wings up alongside the leg so it will give more of a stationary stance.

The legs feel funny...not cheap, but almost like they're a bit lighter in weight. This will come into play later. Here you get a look at where the conehead goes in transformation, no adjustments are necessary the transformation is smooth.

The rest of the figure transforms just like the regular MP seekers. Everything seems good so far, right? Well, on to the negatives.

The figure will not stand straight up, with it's legs straight, without teetering backwards. The legs are lighter, making the diecast parts of the upper torso weigh it down even more. **EDIT, see post #26 for an update. He stands just fine**

But hey, how many of you display them in stiff poses anyway, right? We all go for dramatic poses. Well, when you spread the legs apart to the first notch, they automatically spring back into the straight position. Whether the spring is too tight, or one of the notches in the groove isn't deep enough, who knows. However, you have to really widen it's stance in order to have a dramatic pose. Either that, or use the other piece that connects to the base (standard in all MP seeker releases) that gives it an aerial pose.

Other than that, the joints are tight throughout, no out-of-the-box stress marks or anything (granted it would be harder to tell since it's mostly white). Truth be told, it looks just like an official Takara-Tomy release (imagine that, lol). However, given it's price tag and the outstanding quality on the rest of the figure, the reduced poseability of the legs are a huge negative for me. **EDIT, in light of post #26, I can now fully endorse this figure 100%**

Not too shabby then huh Payton. I had similar issues on the legs and midsection with my PP-01 second run. Can we get some comparison shots?

looks good. I'm beginning to think not $400 (for the set) good, though. This isn't going to be the slam dunk decision I thought it was.

Yeah, it's still good. If you pose it with the other seekers in a group shot then he could always just ever-so-slightly lean on one of them so you don't notice. All in all, I don't regret the purchase. I just hope the next two don't have the same leg issues. I may just unscrew the lower legs and see if there's any room for me to weigh them down with anything.

I'll post more comparison shots in the morning.

    Thanks for this payton :)

I'd like to know if the legs permit this kind of pose:

That's what will make or break the deal for me..
    Thanks in advance payton :)

Not a slam-dunk but I'm still excited about it. The whole not being able to stand thing is a drag, but I keep my MP Seekers displayed on the stand anyway so I guess it'll work.

Yea, thanks for the inside look! Not too sure I want this or the other cone heads, but I am really intrigued by the Sunstorm variant. Are you picking that up as well?

The Takara MP Seekers are kinda plain, with a lack of detail. Not to say they are cheap, but have more of a model feel to them fresh out of the box. That's where the stickers come into play, ad whatever detail you like. Hasbro is the side that gives you the extra paint apps to be more G1. I think the "not" Ramjet looks great. I ordered the complete set from TFSource for $341.95 + $15 shipping, and can't wait until July to get the whole set.

Also did anyone notice how now the iGear site has them listed as "free shipping", but raised the price to match what it cost before shipping was "free"? :scalper

I should be getting my second MP Ramjet around Friday/Saturday, so I'll know for sure at that point whether the "legs extending at the waist" issue is common, or just a problem with the particular one that I received first.
