Kids love farts! So of course a movie with a lot of emphasis on toys for kids (and grown-ups that don't want to quite grow-up) will have fart jokes.

 

I love how creative they are.

While his style might not have been the best fit for such true-life stories as Pearl Harbor, Bay seems to have found his niche with Transformers, a testosterone fairy tale where good and evil are clearly delineated and Bumblebee, a teenage boy's first car, doesn't only open the world to him, but helps him save it.

He never claimed to try to make it more than what it is. That's just his style and if people want to complain about it, don't watch it.

I did find the humour funny, dumb yet funny but going back to what the OP says, yes if you didn't like the urinating in the first film you'll cringe at the humour in this one.

You people clearly have never seen Blazing Saddles. My god, the fart jokes, the crude humor...ROTF doesn't come anywhere CLOSE to that classic comedy from what I know.

I wish to join in the general disapproval of Ed Bailey's excessively strong reaction to the humor in this film. I am forced to ask: would you characterize yourself as a Type-A personality, Ed? Were you so serious when you were a kid yourself?

Now, I'm a pretty traditional guy and am all for raising children to have a sense of decorum and appreciation for what's appropriate and what's not, but Ed goes overboard, IMO. Trust me, a few fart jokes aren't going to hurt your child.

 

This whole topic is based on the faulty reasoning that "you" thought Transformers urinating was bad.

 

Yeah, I'm just gonna fall asleep during the toilet humour scenes and let the intense action wake me up.

 

All these secens that you sort of people are whining about are the scenes that everyone in the cinema laughed at when i went to see it. The place was packed too, so it wasnt just full of nerdy fanboys. Also i was waiting in a cue with my 65 year old, tf-movie loving father and the couple in front of us happend to also be in their 60's and the woman was a HUGE Optimus Prime fan. So much so that she has a huge prime standee in her bedroom.

So yeah...people whining about the humour in TF movies: Silly Geewhun fanboys. Everyone else loves it.

 

I like that we have somebody named Drpee commenting in a thread about urination; sorta gives it an official angle.
