Question of the day: If there was a fire and you could only save one of your transformers (besides family/pets obviously) which would it be??

The one I could sell for the most $$ to have cash for the cleanup/repairs.

Probably none...they are just toys. I would be more concerned with getting myself, my family and my pets out. However, if by any chance I had time to grab one or tfs they would have to be my armada blurr and my armada powerlinks hotshot. Blurr was my first non minicon tf and hot shot is my all time favorite character

G1 Soundwave w/ Ravage and Frenzy (which is how he is right now, incidentally). It's the figure that got me into collecting again.

Not going to lie, I really dislike posts like these. It really goes against the spirit of discussion. It's like you're trying to "win" the topic. The point is to talk about which TFs are valuable to you, not to try to think of loopholes.

I would really be more concerned about saving my laptop, iPad, hard drives, etc. I have never spent more than $100 on a Transformer so those are all worth substantially more and have my pictures from vacations and holidays on them. Probably my SDCC Bruticus would be the most worth saving though. I'm assuming he still goes for big bucks on the market. I only started collecting in March so none of them really have much sentimental value to me.

Honestly, if my place is on fire I'm not running back in for toys...

Yeah, because that will definitely be what you're thinking about while you're home burns.

Personally I'd just make sure everything "living" was evacuated, including the cat and fish. The collection can burn, I have insurance. I'll just collect the insurance cash and re-purchase the one or two I really had an attachment to. Would likely be some variation of MP-10 and city commander + classics magnus.

I think I would be a little too depressed after a fire to want to rebuild a collection. A couple minty remnants of what I had so I could reminisce would be fine.

It'd be either RID Scourge, Masterpiece Grimlock, Cybertron Galvatron, Cybertron Optimus, or TFP FE Starscream.

... guys, a hundred posts saying you have priorities other than toys is not good discussion. We get it. Fire's bad and you have other valuables. But we're on a Transformers board. Not a... disaster preparation and prevention board.

    Can't you just... play along?

Play along? The guy asked what we'd go back in for and I gave my answer. Nothing. No toy is worth risking your life over - doesn't matter if the question isn't a serious one.

I don't have any super rare items in my collection so I guess I'd grab the most expensive to replace...TFC Hercules. I don't even want to think about my collection burning though. <shudders>

Game on! I brought this thread up because I was preparing a emergency bag to grab n' go and figured I'd have one guy from the collection stuffed in as well ;)

    seriously.

OP included fire into the equation. There have been other threads about the figures that you will never sell in your collection. This thread specifically includes FIRE. If you want to ignore that and just talk about toys, that's all you. But the subject of a fire is in the topic title. People are going to discuss it and how it relates to their toys and other priorities. Opinions and all that.

I'm not sure I'd have time after wrangling my cat into her carrier (she's small but very feisty) but probably Powermaster Prime. It's a memento of both recovering from a bad illness and of my late grandmother, so it has a lot of sentimental value. The rest I can recover over time.

    Yeah, can we not?

We have one member specifically, who lost his home to the hurricane. He's tweeting currently about the clean-up that has to be done before he can even be allowed back into the house to pack up his collection to go move into a storage unit.

"Which one toy am I grabbing" isn't a question. I'm not taking any. I'll be too hurried grabbing things like my phone, keys, wallet, netbook, the dog, the hamster, making sure my girlfriend has everything she needs, and then getting us all out of the house safe. Screw the toys.

any of my MISB headmasters (chromedome, brainstorm, highbrow) because they are pretty rare to find MISB, and even if I got insurance money I would probably not have the guts to buy them back at today's market values.
